Recovery, Celebration and Big Plans Ahead!

After a whirlwind of racing and excitement, it’s Recovery Week, team. Whether you’re basking in the glow of Ironman Western Australia or shaking off the adrenaline from yesterday’s Race #2 of the 2XU Triathlon Series, this week is all about listening to your body. Keep moving, but dial back the intensity to let those niggles settle and your fitness consolidate. It’s not about stopping; it’s about smart recovery to keep building.

Race #2 brought us sunshine instead of storms, a chaotic swim, and some brilliant performances from our squad. While we’re waiting on official results to give every achievement its due recognition, we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who raced. And how about that finish-line proposal? Congratulations to Silvia and Andrea—what a way to cap off an already memorable day! 💍

With so much happening, it’s also time to shift gears and start planning for what’s ahead. Mark your calendars for Hell Week 2024, kicking off on December 21st. The ultimate test of endurance, resilience and camaraderie, Hell Week is as tough as it sounds, but it’s also one of the most rewarding weeks of the year. Fit in what you can and prepare to finish the year stronger than ever. The sweat, effort and laughs are what make it legendary - don’t miss out!

Let’s also not forget to celebrate the season! The Tri-Alliance Christmas Party is happening on Sunday 15th December, from 2:30 PM at Stomping Ground in Moorabbin. It’s the perfect chance to catch up with your squadmates, spread some Christmas cheer, and toast to an incredible year of training and racing. Be sure to RSVP so we can save you a seat at the table!

Finally, a heads-up for next week: Victorian Age Long Course Championships will impact our Monday and Wednesday swim sessions at MSAC. Check the newsletter for all the details so you can plan accordingly.

There’s so much to celebrate, plan for, and look forward to. Recovery Week doesn’t mean slowing down entirely - it’s about pacing yourself and staying engaged. Let’s finish the year strong, team!

RACE #2 - BRIGHTON BRILLIANCE

Yesterday, Brighton delivered the goods for Race #2 of the 2XU Triathlon Series, and our squad was out in full force! While the BOM had us worried about rain and the dreaded duathlon (nobody loves a beach run to replace the swim), the skies surprised us with sunshine instead. It turned out to be a stunning day, although the swim was a chaotic washing machine. Those who’ve been putting in the open water training definitely had the edge!

Unfortunately, as of tonight, the official results haven’t been updated by the timing platform used through O2 Events, so we’re unable to provide a full breakdown of squad results just yet. We saw plenty of bling over the weekend, so we know podiums were aplenty, but in the interest of fairness, we’ll wait to celebrate individual achievements until we have the official results. For now, a massive WELL DONE to everyone who raced - you were amazing, and we can’t wait to highlight your performances next week!

A Finish Line Proposal!
Brighton wasn’t just about racing - it was a day for love, too! Congratulations to one of our Try the Tri participants, Silvia, who crossed the finish line only to stumble straight into the arms of her now fiancé, Andrea, who was down on one knee. What a moment! We’re thrilled for the happy couple and wish them all the best as they start this exciting new chapter together. 💍💛

A Huge Thank You to Our Community
This weekend’s success wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible effort from so many of you. Whether it was putting up the tent, helping with the Tips and Tricks clinic, assisting in the TriShop, cheering on the sidelines, helping with TriKids, packing down the tent, or even being Oscar's buddy - we had it all this weekend, and we’re so grateful. Your support makes a huge difference and is what makes this squad so special. Thank you for everything!

CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS TOGETHER

🎄 Tri-Alliance Christmas Party 🎄

It’s that time of year again - time to swap the lycra for something festive and celebrate the season with your Tri-Alliance family!

This year, we’re keeping it simple and casual (because let’s face it, the cost of living is hitting us all). Instead of a ticketed event, we’re inviting everyone to join us for a laid-back Christmas catch-up:

📅 When: Sunday, 15th December
Time: From 2:30 PM onwards
📍 Where: Stomping Ground (Moorabbin)

No tickets, no stress - just great company and good vibes. Drop by whenever it suits you, grab a drink or a bite to eat (totally up to you), and enjoy catching up in a relaxed, social setting.  Tables are booked in the Beer Hall.

Bring your partners, kids, or even that tri-curious friend who keeps asking about your training sessions. The more, the merrier! Let’s take a moment to wind down, share some laughs, and wish each other a Merry Christmas.

RSVP: Just let us know if you’re coming so we can give Stomping Ground a heads-up.

We can’t wait to see you all there for some festive fun! 🎅🎁✨

GET READY FOR HELL WEEK 2024

It’s that time of year again - Hell Week is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to kick off the ultimate triathlon training challenge of the season! Known as the biggest and toughest week on the Tri-Alliance calendar, Hell Week is designed to test your limits, push you out of your comfort zone, and leave you feeling stronger than ever.

Hell Week is all about packing in purpose-driven training to build endurance, strength, and mental toughness. The goal is to push your limits while keeping it fun and engaging - a true test of resilience to close out the year.

The trick? Do what you can, when you can. With the festive season in full swing, we understand that many of you will be traveling, visiting family and friends, or working through the holidays. The key is to fit in a little each day to stay consistent and reap the rewards of this week-long challenge.

The camaraderie, hard work and sweat are what make this week so legendary within our squad. So, mark your calendars, rally your training buddies and prepare to dig deep.  We’ll see you on the start line for the first session on December 21st!
