Take a look at that pic above. That is all. I will say no more about it as I have no doubt you are in one of two camps; those who have already heard about it and those who are going to hear about it!
As we round out Recovery Week, don’t forget you will be time trialling at Albert Park Lake or Essendon tonight. Please arrive just before 6pm out the front of the main MSAC entrance to begin a warmup. The week finishes up with squad swim from 6am tomorrow morning (open to everyone) with Head Coach on deck, a recovery week ride leaving from Elwood at 7am on Saturday and the 8am Long Run from Fairfield on Sunday. And then we launch into Build Week 1...woo hoo!
As we fast approach the strength phase on our training calendar, we’ve included an interesting article about some common errors endurance athletes make in strength training. This can apply across the board to all athletes, as we all know a sprint triathlon takes over an hour for most, calling on muscle endurance and strength to get to that finish line. Strong athletes are fast athletes.
And on a lighter note, we found some funny triathlon-specific challenges that are sure to get rise out of most of us, whilst at the same time taking the absolute p@#s out of ourselves. Take a minute to have a laugh and if you can, cast your vote for you most favourite so we can get some squad results. Better still, include any of your own we can all relate to (enter A.Wood-Rich…I have a feeling this is right up your alley)! Actually maybe I'll start it off...check out the photo below! Athletes taking photos of your misfortunes...my thoughts about Jimmy at that moment were not nice..stink-eye through the sunnies!
A finally, a little word from our good friends at Orca. Don’t forget they can take care of all your swimming needs, both in the pool and in the open water. Yes, they have amazing wetsuits, but they also have a whole host of accessories to keep you swim happy. And I’m sure we don’t need to remind you, that as TA members you are all entitled to a special 20% discount!!!
That’s all for now. Make the most of these sunny days and happy training!
