IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU REACT

for-every-problem-there-is-a-solution-1

Jeepers that week went fast!  We must have been having so much fun that time really did fly...even with the extra hour of sleep!

It's been great to see a huge group of athletes embracing the new online training platform and making sessions a part of their routine again.  We've received loads of positive feedback, and even some rather funny athlete benefits, that they are too good not to share. Make sure you check out the quotes below.

We've taken a slightly broader overview of our community this week, to try and step away from the nitty-gritty.  However, if you need any info on memberships, CoachingMate, programs, resistance band, wind trainers for hire, etc...all that info remains the same as previous editions, so just take a scroll back.

Quick rundown of this edition:

* Timetable - need more survey responses
* Team Meeting - access to presentation for those unable to attend
* Athlete Quotes - unexpected benefits of training from home
* Training Article - ways to stay motivated during this pandemic
* Lakeside Dietitian - the importance of boosting your health
* Saturday Ride Details - know how to get involved
* Garmin Data - Ollie's calling for volunteers
* Recipe (Just in Time For Easter) - homemade hot cross buns
* Public Holidays - no Go Virtual sessions

As always, we are optimistic about the *bonus* time we now have to work on our fitness, our mobility, our strength and our technique.  When are ever blessed with such an opportunity to pull in the reigns and resist the temptation of racing to have a TRUE off-season?!?

Don’t forget to reach out if you need some support and someone to connect to over this time.   We are all here for each other and will come out the other side stronger.

The Unexpected Benefits of Training Online

“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react that matters” ~ Epictetus

Tri-Alliance athletes are embracing the virtual world of training and discovering some unexpected benefits along the way!

Can you relate to any of these:

“Being able to shower and get dinner started as soon as training is finished”

“How good is it when you get to a session early and you can fold washing or start cooking dinner while you wait?”

“the great thing about virtual stretch/flexibility sessions is you can fart as much as you like #thankgodformute”

5 Ways to Stay Motivated During the Pandemic

With races being canceled all over the world due to the CO-VID19 (coronavirus) pandemic, it can be tough to stay motivated with your training. At times like this—especially when no one knows when racing might resume—it’s not uncommon for your motivation to take a nosedive. Add to this that we’re all looking for innovative ways to workout from home (while trying to balance work, homeschooling, and more) and suddenly it’s easy for your daily training to drop or even fall away. However, with these tips from some leading coaches, we’ve got help on hand to keep you healthy, fit, focused, and motivated.

LAKESIDE SPORTS MED NUTRITION ADVICE

The importance of boosting your health through nutrition during a health crisis

We are facing unprecedented times, where most of us have had our lives changed in some form or another and now is not the time to be slacking off on your nutrition. If anything, ensuring that you are optimising your bodies’ ability to cope mentally and physically should be at the forefront of your mind. Given the increased time that many of us are now spending at home, it is also the optimal time to focus on some goals that may have been pushed to the side due to the demands of work/life.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR RIDING

online-group-ride-session

It’s important to keep routines going and stay connected, so Saturday mornings we ride… VIRTUALLY!

We will have 2 options for all our programmed athletes:

  1. Join our private Zwift group ride – Tri-Alliance Social Saturday!

OR

  1. Join us for an online coached session to see all your buddies and ride with the coach!
Check out how to join these groups using the link below
CALLING FOR DATA

garmin-csv-file

If you were in our Team Meeting on Wednesday, you will know that Ollie was calling for volunteers to send through their data.  He is specifically needing you to scroll back as far as you can, and to email this through in a CSV file.

Can you please include in your email:

  • Date range
  • Start dates of the builds
  • Race dates
  • Other significant points within that data

Bearing in mind we only need 4-5 key points

Just in time for Easter...

How good are Hot Cross Buns!?!?  What a treat!

These tiny spiced, sweet buns, usually made with fruit and marked with a cross on the top are surely one of the best parts of Easter.

Well, now you too can make them at home and enjoy these delicious bundles of goodness over the upcoming long weekend.

This recipe from Coach Steph is one not to disappoint!
