With Recovery Week behind us, it’s time to switch gears and dive into Build Week 1! Think of this week as the start of a new chapter - one where every session has a purpose, and every effort is an investment in the months ahead. This is where the hard work starts to shape our race season. So, let’s bring our energy, commit to each interval, knowing it’s all building toward something great.

Over the long weekend, we had a dozen of our athletes up in Noosa, racing their hearts out! We’re proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to share the results with you below. And this weekend, we’re back at it again for Ironman 70.3 Melbourne. We’ve got a dedicated squad hitting the start line, so let’s wish them all the best as they take on the course!

To show our support, we’re moving our usual Sunday morning session from Elwood to St Kilda. Coach Greg will lead an open water swim session after the race swim has wrapped up, followed by a long run session along the bike course. This way, we can cheer on our squad mates as they power through the final stages of their race - because nothing fuels a good workout like a little team spirit!

In this week’s Training Notes, we’re talking about using that race momentum and training smarter, not harder. With the season ramping up, it’s time to dial in your race nutrition and practice it in training so there are no surprises on race day. Make these last preparation weeks count by focusing on quality over quantity and building a race-ready mindset.

A quick reminder that it’s easy to update your payment details through the online dashboard. Keeping those up to date helps everything run smoothly, so take a moment to double-check if you haven’t already!

As always, sessions are updated on the online timetable, with a few small tweaks this week (Hot Laps for uncoached sessions and the Sunday location change, as mentioned).

Make the most of every opportunity, team - let’s continue to build that foundation strong!

Extra shoutout to Chloe, for completing her first triathlon in 4 years!!!  Here's what she said:
"2020 was my last triathlon. I had hip pain after it and found that I had a labrum tear in my right hip. It also showed that I had hip dysplasia. I had two major PAO periacetabular osteotomy surgeries in 2022 and 2023. This weekend was a big achievement! I did the Noosa Triathlon Olympic distance race 1.5km swim 40km bike ride 10km run
Thanks to my family for all your support - that surgery was bloody challenging 🩼👩‍🦽‍➡️Thanks @southmelbournephysio for all the rehab and @trialliance for all your support"

Congratulations to all our athletes for their dedication and impressive results! Your hard work and commitment truly shone through on race day. We’re incredibly proud of each of you!

Sunday Support Duties

Good Luck to Our IRONMAN 70.3 Melbourne Athletes!

This weekend, we have a big race happening right in our backyard with the IRONMAN 70.3 Melbourne. We’re thrilled to support our squad members taking on the challenge:

- Evan (#656) – we know you’ve got a strong swim and bike lined up, even if you’re not planning to start the run.
- Tilders (#167) – putting in a solid build for Busselton, and this race will be a great stepping stone on the way.
- Maggie (#1573) – a first-timer who hasn’t missed a beat in training under watchful eyes.
- Yas (#1367) – another first-timer, coming in strong after a great pre-season camp.
- Coach Gaz – making a comeback to racing and ready to hit the course.
- Angus – “the influencer” himself, gracing the course with his presence!
- Dicko– is backing up his smoking performance in Noosa with a slightly longer hit out.

Good luck to each of you! We’re proud of the hard work you’ve put in, and we’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines. Go out there, race strong, and enjoy every moment!

Sunday Session Update
To support our squad buddies competing, we’re moving our usual Sunday session from Elwood to St Kilda Beach. Coach Greg will be there to lead an open water swim session after the race competitors have finished their swim. Following that, he’ll guide a long run session along the bike course, so we can encourage our athletes on the course as they push through the final stages of their race.

**Note:** There will be no session at Elwood on Sunday morning. Join us at St Kilda to support, train, and celebrate the team!  Meet at the TA Tent, which will be in the TriClub Village.

Training Notes

Race Season Momentum

Race season is officially in full swing! We’ve just seen an awesome weekend at Noosa with some impressive finishes, and we’re charging forward with Melbourne 70.3 next weekend. Before we know it, Ironman Busselton and the 2XU Triathlon Series will be upon us, bringing even more chances to get out there, compete, and see your hard work pay off.

As we enter the Competition Phase this month, your focus is shifting to speed, endurance, and the race-specific skills you’ll need to perform at your peak. It’s all about translating your training into race-ready fitness. But as you ramp up, remember - fuelling right is essential.

With race days now a big part of the calendar, it’s time to use each training session to fine-tune your nutrition strategy. Treat your sessions like race-day rehearsals: practice the timing and types of fuel that work best for you, whether it’s gels, hydration, or solids. The goal is to avoid any race-day surprises and figure out what keeps your energy steady, and your stomach settled.

Dialing in your nutrition will make the difference between hitting your targets and falling short. So, let’s make each session count, not only in pace and effort but in fuelling like a pro. Test it, tweak it, and get it right - you’ll thank yourself on race day!
