IT'S RACE WEEK...AGAIN!

How about that...Let's do it all again!  This Sunday athletes will line up for Race #2 of the 2XU Series, and this week we are headed down the road to Green Point, Brighton.

We haven’t always had much luck with the weather for the Brighton races, so let’s hope this weekend breaks that pattern.  We will have a big contingent of athletes racing with all of our Try the Tri group taking to the start line, as well as our seasoned athletes.

However, the yellow and blue will be spilled all the way down Beach Road, as we also have a strong group of athletes taking on the Melbourne Marathon!  Very best of luck to all our runners, who have put in many months of hard training, logged many kms and have come through their build fitter and faster than ever.  You only have to look at the pic below of them to see how ready they all are!

Speaking of runners, well done to all those who took part in the Wellness Run through St Kilda on Sunday.  It was a cracking morning and some very quick times were posted.  As well as the four smiling faces above (Jo, Jen, Doug & Kat), we know Coach Scotty smacked out a handy 1:27:36 half marathon to finish 5th in his AG!  Way to go, Team!

As we head into race day at Brighton this weekend, we will go with a similar format to Elwood:

* Race recon Saturday morning
* Tent assembly after training
* Try the Tri at 9:30am
* Tips & Tricks at 12:30pm

If anyone can stay around and help with any of the above, that would be much appreciated.  Just check in with Ollie to see where your help is most needed.   Many hands will make light work and I have a feeling we’ll certainly be needing them this weekend.

Sunday morning will once again see all coaches committed to the race and supporting duties, so long course athletes are encouraged to form a group and swim/run together.  It would be great to see as many of you as possible swim at Brighton or Elwood and then complete your run along the bike or marathon course to give plenty of shout outs along the way.

We’re still looking for some helpers for the Tri Kids event.  The helpers last weekend were amazing and the kids just love having a friendly face to walk them to the start line or a pair of strong hands to lift their bike off the rack.  And they especially like someone tying up their shoelaces when their little fingers are frozen!  If you’re able to, please send me a quick email to let me know, but I do understand we have limited vollies with our supporting duties split between the two events.

Start Times:

Tri Kids event – 6.50am

Fun Tri – 7.15am

Sprint Distance – 8.40am

And let’s not forget that we have our Christmas Party coming up the following weekend.  We need to get an idea of numbers to confirm the booking, so can you please read below and head to the link to book your ticket asap.  We’d hate to have to cancel because you didn’t get your ticket in time.  We need final numbers by this Sunday!

Please reach out if there’s anything you need, or a coach you’d like to chat to.  They are all available to provide support, guidance or help you navigate an area you can’t quite put your finger on.  Here’s their contact details again, if now is just the right time:

Message from Andy:  These will be offered as a pre-order option from now, with the team store closing on the 19th of December.  The production will be 6-7 weeks from the close of the store.  Looking at about $140 per jersey and we need to get a minimum of 10 male and 10 female jerseys ordered to avoid a surcharge. The price might decrease if we get a larger order (but the numbers have to double for that I think) I will be getting a "Fit Kit" for both male and female styles this week as well to help with sizing and I own one of these retail jerseys if you want to check out the quality as well.

The Tri-Alliance team store is now live!
