HELLO FEBRUARY

try-the-tri

Seemed like Summer came out to play last week, and we finally had a local race with some real heat…both on the field and in the air!  How good was it down at Elwood, with loads of athletes taking to our home ground to battle it out.  The depth of the field was strong and that was awesome.  Nothing better than knowing you are out there racing some top-level athletes and earning your result.  We are super proud of everyone’s effort, with some slick times, some athletes racing through their training build to Geelong 70.3 and some athletes crossing the finish line for the very first time as TTT graduates.  Woo hoo!  We encourage all of you to take a look into your results (not just base it on podium placings) and see how you honestly fared.  Did you have PB times overall, in a discipline or in an area you’ve been working on?  Did you improve as you planned?  Are there now areas you’d like to work on?  This is how you should be analysing your result and not getting disheartened because you didn’t get a medal.  The field was strong, that’s a good thing as it makes you learn to work harder, push boundaries and keep striving.  If it was easy all the time, you’d get complacent (heaven forbid you already have!) and everyone would be doing it.  When the going gets tough, the tough get going!

But have you heard the most exciting news???  Tri-Alliance is sitting on T .O.P of the leader board after 3 races of the 2XU series!!!! Woo Hoo....How bloody awesome.  That's a hats off and a pat on the back to ALL our wonderful athletes who have contributed with their blood, sweat and tears (but mostly with gritty smiles) to make this our BEST season yet.BUT....we're only half way through and we're not ready to rest on our laurels just yet.  Plus....every heard of Tall Poppy...yah...we know it's a massive target on our backs and rightly so, but that's only going to make us dig deeper and try harder, right? It's close...and I mean, real close!   SO...we wanna see *EVERYONE* signed up to the last 2 races to help bring home the bacon.  That's right, WE NEED YOU.  C'mon, get behind the amazing TA spirit and BRING IT HOME!

Our other exciting news is the launch of CoachingMate V2.  We’ve included a full list of the amazing features below as well as a set of instructions to get you going.  But, if you really are having trouble, then please send Ollie an email or give him a call to help you out.  We’ve also noticed an increase in athletes now lining up to get scanned at the start of a session (yeah we know why…#obsessedwithdata).

This week we’re introducing a new segment from our very popular Gazbassador, who feels like we should all share in his grumpiness.  His column, The G Files, debuts with a bit of an insight into his persona and we can’t wait to see to where this leads us.

Included below is also the weekend’s training details, MSAC squad update, Albert Park precinct news, and much more!

The Truth Is Not Out There
The G Files (aka Gaz/Grumpy/Grouchy/Gormless Files) is a new addition to the newsletter this year, showcasing the many intriciticies of our one and only GAZbassador! What they will include from week to week?  Well, we don't really know!  But on thing's for sure.....it's certain to be entertaining!

"I can’t begin to tell you how many things contribute to my general state of grumpiness, but I plan to relate some of these to you!  You will learn from each of the three sports we do, and some other related topics what can really be of annoyance to me."

Road Closures at Albert Park

There will be road closures on Aughtie Drive from Tuesday 5th Feb for the remainder of the week, as overhead structures will be installed.
The road closures will commence at 07:00 am each day.  Access to Aughtie Drive will be possible for MSAC from the South Melbourne end of Albert Park.  Aughtie Drive will be closed to all persons from the St Kilda end at Hockey Drive.
We ask that all riders respect the road closures and the traffic management workers who are implementing the traffic management plans. The traffic management measures are in place for the safety of all road users.
Where possible, please, seek alternate routes to your intended destinations using the bike path network around Albert Park.
A near miss was reported last week where a cyclist ignored traffic management workers, physically pushed the traffic management workers and as a result the cyclist risked a significant head injury.
