WORD FROM THE COACHES
This week sees our return to Elwood and the start of our summer training timetable. Now that we have that extra daylight at the end of the day sessions can go on until the sun sets on the beach and we can all grab that perfect Inst photo to post! This means Elwood sessions on a Thursday start at 6pm with wind trainer/run and swim combos. Long course guys should be running in the evening with a swim as they will have ridden in the morning (according to their programs….). Short course guys who have not ridden hot-laps will wind trainer and run combo with those who have running and swimming.
Saturday mornings will be a combo session for short course and long ride for our long course athletes. Sunday will be a swim and run day with all athletes able to attend though again please check your program or consult with your coach to ensure you are not overdoing it through excessive sessions.
So please bring the appropriate gear for your session or if you are unsure bring everything! The water will be a little fresh so do not forget your wetties….
Elwood Life Saving club memberships should be renewed soon and for those wishing to join and have the benefits of warm showers after sessions and the ability to get a parking permit Rachel from the club will be organising a morning soon to join up.
For more information check out their site here: http://www.elwoodlsc.com.au/membership/
OCTOBER PROGRAMS
With the new month comes new timetabling and new programs. For athletes on relevant memberships your programs should now be updated. If you have any questions or queries relating to them please ask your coach.
And a reminder it is recovery week this week so we hope you have and continue to take it easier that last week.
THAILAND/KONA CREW
It was good to see a few of the Kona crew on Monday night and Coach Ollie after a couple of weeks of hard work away. The preparation has been mostly on track and we look forward now to all the posts and pictures from Kona for the next couple of weeks. With the race less than 2 weeks away taper town is here and with the acclimatisation from similar conditions in Thailand we wish the guys all the best in their final sessions leading up to the big day. Coach Ollie is still available via email and will be checking and responding over the next few weeks but do be prepared for a slight delay with time differences and race preparations.
TRAINING UPDATES
As above Elwood sessions start from tomorrow Thursday 5th October so please ensure you check the timetable here and your programs so you know where to be and what to expect. . |
