HAPPY 2022 TO ALL

Happy New Year to everyone, and best wishes for a great 2022!

This is just a quick blast with our timetable for the week ahead.  Unfortunately, we’ve had a last minute change and with ominous weather predicted, we thought it best to update you all via email.


MSAC let us know that they have decided to run a summer timetable this week, meaning they do not open until 8am and will close at 6pm.  Obviously, this doesn’t fit with squad sessions, so we are moving to Elwood for Wednesday and Friday morning.  We encourage many of you to be there tomorrow, as we’ll keep our finger crossed (but cannot promise) that Friday morning will be swimmable!


And on that, we will keep a close eye on the weather this week and update sessions accordingly.  Hot Laps is scheduled for Thursday morning, but that mat flip to an indoor session if needed.  Equally, combo sessions Thursday and Saturday will be adapted if necessary.  We just ask you to keep an eye on the TA Vic Facebook page for updates as we go.


And lastly, it goes without saying, but if you are feeling unwell in any way, are considered a close household contact, or are awaiting test results, please do not attend any sessions.  And get in touch with us if you have concerns, or you do test positive, so that we can support you as needed. 

TRAINING SCHEDULE

*** Build Week 1 ***

Monday:

  • New Year's Day public holiday

Tuesday: 

  • 6pm - Long Course athletes – wind trainer session with The General (link in programs).
  • 6pm - Short Course athletes & TTT – wind trainer session with Coach Gaz (link in programs).


Wednesday:

  • 6am - All athletes – Open Water Swim session at Elwood.  Meet next to Elwood Life Saving Club for a 6am start.  Bring all open water swim gear, pool toys and bands.


Thursday:
  

  • 5.45am - Intermediate/Advanced athletes - Meet outside MSAC main entrance by 5:40am for 5:45am roll out.  Tri-Alliance apparel is required, to keep the group together safely. Check your program for specific session prescribed for you.
  • 6pm - Short Course combo - athletes will complete a brick session of structured bike/run intervals followed by open water swim/skills, with Coach Gaz 
  • 6pm - Long Course combo - athletes to prioritize a quality run set.  Open water swim only if time permits, with Coach Greg.
  • 6pm - Advanced athletes - run session only for those with it programmed, with Coach Ollie.
  • 6.30pm - TTT - TBC

Friday:

  • 6am - All athletes – Open Water Swim session at Elwood.  Meet next to Elwood Life Saving Club for a 6am start.  Bring all open water swim gear, pool toys and bands.


Saturday:

  • 6am - Long Course athletes – will be riding programmed distances from Elwood, with Coaches Greg & Gaz.
  • 7am - Short Course athletes – combo session with Coach Ollie.
  • 9.30am - Try the Tri session - at Elwood Beach, with Coach Ollie.

 
Sunday:

  • 7am - Long swim at Elwood Beach with Coach Greg
  • 8am - Long run from Elwood with Coach Greg.
