Two words; IRONMAN BUSSO! Yeeww…what a day out for our athletes! Let’s go through some stats – 12 athletes (6 first timers, 2 completing IM #9, The General clocking Busso #10), 5 athletes exiting the swim in top 10 positions (Jez cracking the hour & 3 athletes bang on 1 hr!), 3 athletes coming off the bike in top 10s (Fleggo smacking out a 5:01) and 2 athletes 2nd fastest times in their AGs, Georgie fastest run time in her AG, 2 podiums, 1 Kona Qualifier, loads of individual PBs and the best part of all…..H A P P Y athletes (and coaches) all round! Couldn’t ask for anything more. We also had 3 athletes take part in the 70.3 event held at the same time and knock out some great results. Head to the weekend wrap up to check out the details and read some race day reflections. And with considerably less favourable conditions, we had a couple of athletes brave the elements at Sufferfest Safety Beach and the Carman’s Fun Run and a couple of athletes hide out in the new Elwood Pavilion on Sunday morning!
Quick update to anyone who came along (or tried) to our MSAC Monday night swim session. Apologies from us, but more so bigger apologies from MSAC who inadvertently turned some of our members away on the night and miscommunicated some false information. Let’s just clear things up by saying, WE are not the tri squad with the outstanding invoices. We are NOT the tri squad that had our lanes cancelled. But we ARE the Tri Squad with a similar name, which is where the confusion with the staff began. Just know that we are one of the largest squads with permanent bookings at MSAC and the only reason a session is cancelled is because of a swim competition that takes priority. Enough said.
We’ve included a short little article this week, titled ‘Big Isn’t Always Better’. This one is specially for the ladies and working out just what to wear underneath that tri-suit of yours. Thanks to Janine for helping out our athletes by writing this article when we approached her. And now’s a good time to call out for future contributors. If you think you’ve got some good information worth sharing with the crew, please get in touch. Athletes LOVE learning from other athletes.
So now, let’s look forward to the next couple of weeks…lots going on! Ambassadors announced and social night this Thursday, Sandy Race #2 this weekend, Xmas party the following weekend and before you know it, we’ll be into Hell Week!!!! (PS: stay tuned for a HOT deal coming out from our Garmin partners just in time for Xmas.)
We’re already late so no more delays……R E A D O N |
