SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Spring has sprung, and we can't tell you how happy we are about it! It seems a switch really has been flicked and we've been treated with blue skies, sunshine & warm temps, making it much easier to get out of bed and get to training...right?! Unfortunately, with sunshine & blue skies also comes plenty of wind which everyone experienced during our Saturday ride on the weekend! However, it was great to see such a turn out and no one letting anything stop them from enjoying a ripper day out on the bike. And as for that wind, well, it only makes us stronger and as we all know...it could be windy on race day!

Speaking of race day, awesome work by all who signed up for the 2XU Series making the most of the amazing #buy4get6 deal. For those who missed out...you snooze, you lose! #sorrynotsorry but you can still sign up and make the most of the Tri-Alliance 20% discount!

We are back to build week 1 and with only one more weekend of hills left before Queenscliff camp, we're coming to the end of our strength & endurance phase with the speed phase up next...you may have already noticed things starting to ramp up, 60 x 50s anyone??!

This week we say a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Norwegian, Andrea Stranna, for smashing it at the 2019 ITU Age Group Triathlon World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland on the weekend. We also wish ALL of the GOOD VIBES to Michelle Grocock who is just around the corner in Nice, France, taking on the 70.3 World Championships this weekend. And as Michelle prepares for Nice, we thought it would be timely to share a great article of hers featuring plenty of wisdom from both her experience in triathlon and the corporate world.

ITU AGE GROUP WORLD CHAMPS

Well Done Andrea!

Andrea came 25th on Saturday in a tough race at the 2019 ITU Age Group Triathlon World Championships, congratulations! In hot conditions, Andrea had a great non-wetsuit swim before blitzing it on the bike and finishing off with a hot run with many athletes collapsing over the line.

"The run didn't go to plan but that didn't matter, I had a blast! And the bike was so much fun! Found myself an Aussie to ride with and we took turns on the front"

After a celebratory beverage and plenty of cake, Andrea is making her way back to Australia. We look forward to welcoming you back and hearing more about your race and experience, Andrea! Congratulations!

IRONMAN 70.3 WORLD CHAMPS

Good Luck Michelle!

Nice will host the best IRONMAN elite athletes on the planet on the weekend, as well as some of the most-committed age-group competitors from all corners of the globe. In total, an estimated 6,000 participants will descend on the French Riviera*.

We want to wish Michelle the very best of racing vibes for her big day.

"My original holiday plans, all booked and paid for, would have had me flying home tomorrow.  And then I qualified for the 70.3 World Champs in Nice. So thanks to my fantastic work friends and colleagues Michael and Katrina for telling me to take more holiday, I’m here for another 10 days, and doing this!"

TRI-ALLIANCE-COACHES
Weekesy in the Water

A few of you have heard me comment recently that there is a handful of things you can be doing in the water to make you better swimmers, regardless of your experience, fitness or natural ability.

The following habits are strongly encouraged!

The aim is for other swimmers and members of the public to look across to the
Tri-Alliance lanes and think ‘Wow!
Those guys are well-drilled and know what they’re doing!’
