IT NEVER GETS EASIER...YOU JUST GET STRONGER

That’s right…you get stronger, you push harder, so it never feels ‘easier’.  But if you take just a little moment to reflect, I bet you’ll soon realize that your effort level has increased, your pace has improved, you’re hanging in there a little longer, you’re travelling further and the recovery time between sets/reps/sessions has improved.  This week (Golden R) is the perfect time to take that moment to see just how far you’ve come.  Acknowledge these little steps, as the key to success is realizing that our big goals don’t just happen overnight.  It is the progressive accumulation of small steps taken consistently over time.  Hey….well done, you!  It might be hard to see right now, but it’ll be worth it!

So, I guess it’s a little hard to miss all the action coming out of our Thailand Training Camp.  If your social feed is anything like mine, I’m starting to feel a little spammed by it all (thanks guys, not helping my FOMO over here in sunny ol’ Melbourne town!).  These guys and gals are absolutely lapping up all that Thanyapura has to offer and will be reaping the benefits of their heat, humidity, hills and consistent pro-life training schedule in no time.  You can read more about their time in both the Weekend Wrap Up and naturally, the Ambassador’s Antics, with special guest Gary!

Good news, programs for August are all loaded and available, so it’s a good idea to know what you should be doing and when.  If you are having any problems with access, always feel free to drop Ollie or myself an email and we can help get you on track.  Couple of notes for this week: FTP test Tuesday night (but no wind trainers available for hire, so BYO this week), no Tues/Thurs morning sessions in recovery weeks, Thursday night run from the Tan will take a city roam around with the Gals (Bondy & Kathryn) to change it up a bit – don’t be late! and Saturday ride is for everyone from Mordi at 7:30am.

There’s just so much in this edition: to embrace Recovery Week, we’ve included an article on boosting your immune system (timely at this point of the year and within this part of the program).  It’s the final week of our S&C session, so get booked in.  We’re getting new squad gear!!!!   Check out the hoodies and make sure you let me know if you’re interested.  A reminder to save the dates for some upcoming nights and FYI – the We Are Triathletes movie premier IS going ahead!!!!  And how about this one…Putting Soles of the Feet of Beautiful Souls – a great initiate and the perfect target audience right here.

Training Session Notes

Just giving you the heads up on a couple of changes to sessions, whilst Thailand camp is on this week.
Tuesday: night windtrainer will be BYO only.  There will not be any wind trainers available for hire on Tuesday 31st July.  Please come prepared.
Wednesday: final S&C session at MSAC performance centre. 
Thursday: recovery run session from the Tan.  Don't be late as we're heading out and about in the city!
Saturday: all rides leaving from Mordi at 7:30am (recovery week timetable).

You’ll learn what super setting is to create some variance in your strength training. This is the one you don’t want to miss. Come prepared to work hard and advance your skills.

We've got a few exciting events in the pipelines (and a couple more we can't reveal just yet), that we want to give you the heads up on.  No further details at this stage, but it'd be a good idea to block these dates out in your diary:
Thursday 16th August - TA Team Meeting, featuring Mizuno wear test run session, new season styles/colours showcased and product specialists on hand to answer all your questions.
Wednesday 22nd August - Chicks Bike Maintenance Night, hosted and supported by the gurus at Giant South Yarra.  This night is always full of fun, laughter, wine, cheese...oh and some bike stuff!

Putting Soles on the Feet of Beautiful Souls

That’s right, shoes…that are free!! Free for children who currently live in poverty and literally can’t afford shoes…or socks for that matter.  This is where I’m calling upon the amazing TA family to PLEASE HELP!

During my recent travels to Sri Lanka, I was fortunate enough to visit a school and meet some incredible young kids. They are the poorest of the poor. They have very little but were so full of life and love.  I am currently taking shoe donations (including socks) with an aim to collect a minimum of 400 pairs – one pair for every child at the school.

Many of us, including our children, siblings, nieces, nephews etc have a pair of runners that don’t see the light of day and just sit in the back of the cupboard. These pre-loved shoes can literally come back to life and potentially be the first pair of shoes these children will ever own. For some, this will be something they will never forget. But please make sure they are still in reasonable condition.

If you can help, please bring whatever you can to training sessions and I will take them off your hands. I will be attending the TA movie night at the Jam Factory also, so you can bring them along then too.  Thank you legends!!

Perfect Start Up Kit

We have recently been contacted from a member who has some TA kit that is not getting much use.  She'd like to see it go to a good home.  There are a number of pieces, which would be great for someone getting into the sport and just starting out in this somewhat expensive sport of ours!  Everything is about Size 12 and some pieces are like new!  If you are interest shoot me an email and I will put the owner in touch with you.  Just let me know what catches your eye!
