Melbourne Cup & Noosa Tri Long Weekend Timetable Changes

We've got a heads-up for you regarding the upcoming Melbourne Cup / Noosa Tri long weekend. Due to coaches traveling to the Noosa Triathlon and the public holiday, there will be some timetable adjustments over the next week or so. Sessions will still be available in Melbourne, with a few changes. Specifically:

  • No timetable sessions on Monday 6th or Tuesday 7th November - be sure to follow your own programs.
  • Recovery Week = designated sleep ins on Tuesday morning & Thursday morning.
  • Reduced lanes at some swim sessions in line with athletes away.
  • LC ride Saturday 4th will be non-coached.
  • SC Saturdays will now start at 6.45am with a briefing and set up. You need to begin training at 7am. And don't expect Gaz to repeat the briefing if you turn up late - I do not need to remind you how he'll feel about that request!

Get ready for an incredible week of training, camaraderie, and anticipation with Noosa Tri on the horizon and our fresh TA Trisuits to rock. Let's make the most of our resources, stay connected, and power through this week together!

It's great to see a huge TA contingent travelling to sunny Noosa to kick off a new season in style. There's over 40 of you making the trip up, primed and ready to put those long months of training and preparation into fruition on race day!

If you are eagerly counting down the days until go time on Sunday, make sure you take full advantage of taper week and give your body the time it needs to rest up so you're in tip-top shape to compete at your best. We have posted a suggested timetable for the lead up in the FB chat group, which will make the most of our time away and include important recon sessions and squad social time!

Don't forget, we've got loads of nutrition tips on our website for you to check out if you're looking for a little assistance on how to fuel your body in the lead-up to the big day.

For all of you who aren't competing, make sure to take full advantage of recovery week and then get ready to launch into the next few weeks of training - there's plenty of exciting times just around the corner!

It's Time To Sign

We have had a great partnership with Elwood Life Saving Club for many many years and we truly believe in supporting the amazing work they do. That's why we're encouraging all our members to get behind the club and sign up as a member for the 2023/24 season. Not only will this support our community, and get you access to hot showers on training days, but it will also provide you with the opportunity to be eligible for a foreshore parking pass (will save you loads in parking fees...or fines when you get done for forgetting!).

Associate Membership fees (non-patrolling) for the 2023/24 season are $100. ELSC are also offering a number of training opportunities for their members. So, make sure you get on board and support the local community.

You will need to ensure that you have a current Working with Children Check, which has Elwood LSC and Life Saving Victoria listed as organisations. They will not be able to process your renewals without this.

Once you have your ELSC membership sorted, you can then apply to the City of Port Phillip for a Foreshore Club parking permit. Both are simple processes – juts follow the links below (in order) and get yourself sorted for the season ahead!
