april-fools-day-2020

I decided to give you a few days in between my email drops this week, to let you catch your breath and take some time to let things sink in.  It's just that we've been super pumped about the opportunities coming our way, that we wanted to keep sharing things with you!

Thanks to all those who joined us on Wednesday night for our Team Meeting.  Can you believe we had 55 peeps tuning in!!!!  And a special guest appearance form our newest TA family member.  Thanks Donna & Justin for introducing us to Felix!

This was a really positive experience for EVERYONE, in so many ways!!!  And we can't wait to do it again in some way.

Quick rundown of this edition:

* Memberships - details on how to change to Go Solo
* Timetable - overview of weekly sessions + a survey link to provide feedback
* Go Virtual - details on how to access Go Virtual links via your program
* Lakeside Sports Med - TA athlete screening & analysis offer
* Garmin Group Deal - for athletes needing bike sensors for Zwift
* Resistance Bands - how to order yours now
* Saturday Ride Details - know how to get involved
* Garmin Data - Ollie's calling for volunteers

Things to be mindful of:

* Some peeps are saying they are getting an error (no program attached) when trying to access the Go Virtual link.  This is not an error.  This is because you haven't selected the program.  Please read Go Virtual section below and refer to attached PDF.

* All sessions have been loaded to our online timetable.  Same place as always.  And accessible all the time.  This includes times of sessions.  Please look online for details.

* If you see a time on your session in CoachingMate, it means there is a Go Virtual link attached.  This time will match up with the online timetable.  If there is not time, then it is not a scheduled coached session.

* If a session appears on the timetable, but not in CoachingMate, it has not been programmed for you.

We remain positive and continue to push ahead.  Don’t forget to reach out if you need some support and someone to connect to over this time.   We are all here for each other and will come out the other side stronger.

Make Changes to Your Membership
The GO SOLO membership is now in place and can be activated through the process below.  This is in both Short and Long Course options, and can be found under those categories respectfully.

If you would like to make changes to your current membership level, please do so by logging in to your Tri-Alliance Dashboard.  From here you will see the MEMBERSHIPS tab.  Everything can be easily managed by you, including upgrading, cancelling, signing up, etc.  You will receive email confirmation as soon as you make a change.  If you don't get an email, you haven't done it right!

We are asking all members to please follow this procedure.  With our admin time streched as it is, we simply cannot action all messages, emails and passing conversations in a timely manner.  The best way to ensure this is done, is for you to log on and complete in your time.

We thank you for your understanding.

If you would like more info, including step by step instructions with pictures, please use the link to access a PDF.

GO VIRTUAL

Go Virtual Session Option

Want to join us online to complete this session together.  It’s called Go VIRTUAL.

How does this work:
  • Join us via ZOOM to work through your flex, strength, run and dryland swim sessions.  Ollie will be providing explanations, demonstrations and coaching tips.  You’ll even have the option to ask questions as you go, seek immediate feedback or just watch your training buddies as we all do it together.
  • Join a ZWIFT ride event for our bike sessions, so you can ride with your buddies through the virtual streets and push each other along the way.  There’s been a lot of banter during these sessions, and we must say that it certainly helps the time fly by.

If you can't make the timetabled sessions, no stress!  You still have full access to your online program, which includes details and videos, so you will be fully equipped to train independently.   Ollie and I are here to help you out, so always reach out if you need.

GO VIRTUAL – using the link in your program.

NB: Everything is working really well on CoachingMate desktop version, which can be accessed on a computer, laptop, iPad or phone.  However, access to the program links are currently being updated in our iOS and Android apps, so links will not function correctly at this present time.  We will let you know as soon as they are up and running.

FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH TRAINING

resistance-bands
Get Me Some Bands!
Resistance bands are simply a tool that helps you replicate any functional movement, while applying a strength enhancing, muscle building resistance. As a result, resistance band training will make movements and muscles stronger while simultaneously improving movement coordination.

But...now you need to know where to get your hands on them.  You can check them out on eBay or anywhere really.  Even better if you can find suppliers offering deals for 2 sets (highly recommended as 1 set is only 1 length and you need double to do both arms at the same time).  It doesn't matter where you get your bands from - just make sure they have different tensions (colours) and MUST come with handles.  Shop around!

If still confused, email [email protected] to help you out.
SATURDAYS ARE FOR RIDING

online-group-ride-session

It’s important to keep routines going and stay connected, so Saturday mornings we ride… VIRTUALLY!

We will have 2 options for all our programmed athletes:

  1. Join our private Zwift group ride – Tri-Alliance Social Saturday!

OR

  1. Join us for an online coached session to see all your buddies and ride with the coach!
Check out how to join these groups using the link below
CALLING FOR DATA

garmin-csv-file

If you were in our Team Meeting on Wednesday, you will know that Ollie was calling for volunteers to send through their data.  He is specifically needing you to scroll back as far as you can, and to email this through in a CSV file.

Can you please include in your email:

  • Date range
  • Start dates of the builds
  • Race dates
  • Other significant points within that data

Bearing in mind we only need 4-5 key points
