It’s Recovery Week again, and that means dialing things back a little to let the hard work settle in. With our 3-week periodisation cycle, these recovery weeks are just as important as those hard-hitting Build Weeks. Remember, this is when the gains really sink in and set the stage for your next push, so take this time to recharge!

Speaking of pushing limits, last weekend was a massive one for our squad! Mario took on the Ironman World Champs in Kona - and if you were like the rest of us, you were glued to the tracker, watching his progress unfold. We’ve included a race report on his big day below, so make sure to check it out and give Mario a high-five when you see him. Taking on Kona is no small feat, and we couldn’t be prouder!

We’ve also got some timetable changes coming up for next week due to the public holiday and long weekend. Since our next newsletter won’t be out until mid-week next week, we want you to be in the loop now. So please read below for the schedule adjustments from this Thursday through next Thursday - mark your calendars, team!

A quick shout-out to Zoe, who also competed at the World Champs in Spain recently. She put in an impressive effort, and we’re excited to celebrate her race below. It’s inspiring to see our squad members representing on the world stage!

In other news, consider this your friendly team jersey reminder! We’ve loved seeing the squad start to suit up, but we want everyone in TA colours this season. If you haven’t grabbed yours yet, now’s the time. Let’s bring that unity and team pride to every session!

And while we’re on reminders, don’t forget that it’s super easy to update your payment details. Keeping those up to date helps us avoid any hiccups and lets you focus on training without interruption.

All sessions are on the online timetable, so check it out and plan your week ahead. For those of you extending the weekend, enjoy some extra downtime, and make the most of this recovery phase. Rest up, recharge, and be ready to hit the ground running next week!

Keep Across the Timetable

With next week’s public holiday and our annual trip to Noosa to support our athletes racing up north, there are a few adjustments to our usual schedule. Here’s what to expect from Monday to Thursday next week:

- Monday: No squad swim session in the evening.
- Tuesday: No morning run or nighttime wind trainer session.
- Wednesday: Coach Ollie will be away until Thursday night, so Coach Cuzzy will lead the Wednesday swim session, keeping you honest.
- Thursday: No coached Hot Laps in the morning, but Ollie will be back to see everyone at Elwood in the evening.

A Quick Reminder: For those with races on the horizon, this is a good chance to stay committed to your program. Just because there’s no coached session doesn’t mean training stops! Use this time to get out there with training buddies or follow your program independently. Consistency is key, especially as we head into race season, so keep up the momentum and make the most of each session.

The next newsletter won’t be going out until after the public holiday, so please mark these changes in your calendar, and we’ll see you back to normal programming soon. Best of luck to everyone racing in Noosa!

World Triathlon Championships:
Zoe's Performance

Apologies for missing this shout-out last week, but it’s definitely worth celebrating!

Our squad member Zoe, who’s been living in Denmark while finishing her final semester of university, represented Australia proudly at the 2024 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Torremolinos, Andalucia. She finished 37th in her category with a time of 1:33:15, completing the 750m swim in 17:53, the 20km bike leg in 44:01, and wrapping up with a 5km run in 24:50.

Zoe’s journey to the start line was remarkable in itself. After a recent bike accident that left her with significant injuries, she wasn’t sure she’d even be able to race until the day of the event. Despite ongoing challenges with her swim, Zoe’s positive attitude shone through - she shared that just making it to the start line felt like a victory. Adding to her experience, Zoe also joined the team relay, going all out and describing it as “the most fun I’ve ever had.”

We’re incredibly proud of Zoe for her resilience and determination on the world stage. We can’t wait to welcome her back to the squad in Melbourne next year!

Jerseys Are Here!!!

TA family, it's time to wear your blue and yellow with pride! Our jerseys and tri suits have finally landed, and we couldn’t be more excited to see everyone decked out in our iconic gear. There’s something powerful about seeing our squad come together in full force, knowing that every athlete wearing the team colours is part of something bigger - a community that pushes, supports, and celebrates together.

This is more than just apparel - it’s a symbol of everything we stand for. When you put on that jersey or tri suit, you're not just showing up for yourself; you’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder with teammates who share your passion, commitment, and drive. We’re not just athletes; we’re a team. So, let’s suit up and show our colours proudly!

We know many of you have been waiting for this gear, and now it’s finally here! Let’s make sure every one of us is ready to represent Tri-Alliance as we head into race season. Whether you’re training, racing, or just gathering with the squad, let’s make our presence known. Wear the blue and yellow, feel the pride, and let’s show everyone what we’re made of!
