WORD FROM THE COACHES
With this coming weekend seeing the focus fully on footy and the Gran Final training sessions we understand may take a back seat but we do hope athletes can still get out there and get their sessions done before and after the big game. With Friday being a public holiday there is no swim session at MSAC and many athletes are taking the opportunity to ride this day instead of Saturday – there will be groups rolling from Elwood at 7am. Please check your programs and ride in the appropriate group. Coach Greg will still be rolling from Elwood on Saturday morning at 630am for those who want cannot or choose to not ride Friday.
Daylight savings takes place this coming Sunday morning but our runs will stay at Fairfeild and MSAC at the normal times of 8am (just ensure you have changed your clocks….)
Tomorrow will be the final Tan run of the winter timetable and Coach Frankie will again be working your interval session so please ensure you bring your heart rate monitor so you are running in the correct zones. Meet at the Tan start line just near the Swan street bridge for warm up starting at 615pm.
From next week – Thursday 5th October we will be back at Elwood from combo sessions starting at 6pm. Also the short course combo on a Saturday morning and swim/run session on a Sunday. Ensure you check the timetable for the correct locations and times for all sessions.
WEEKEND RACING
Last weekend again saw all that the weather gods could throw at us with a stunning Saturday that gave a double tail wind to those riding. Unfortunately it was Sunday that an about face happened at the wind and rain came down. Great work though to our athletes who took on Mornington Running Festival – Simon, Peter and Nikki braved and survived the battering to go well down the coast.
On the other side of the bay race 3 of the Duathlon Series was taking place in similar conditions as Megan, Stephen and Sheridan took on a flat but extremely windy Altona in a change of location for this event.
MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS INFO
Ezidebit have informed us that the dishonour fees for missed or declined payments are to be raised slightly to $14.80 from the 12th October and we want to ensure as few as possible athletes get hit by this. This is due to both MasterCard and Visa increasing their processing fees industry wide. Please let us know if your account has an issue (e.g. compromised account) so we can check and potentially adjust the payment schedules if required. If you need to update your bank account or card details this can be done through your profile on-line so ensure this is done ASAP to avoid any fee due to a bounced payment. To do this login to your profile and click on 'Change Payment Details' in sub menu at the end – please ensure you check both your weekly AND annual memberships as they may be associated with different banks/cards. Ezidebit process payments very early each day so please ensure your card or bank has sufficient funds the day prior to avoid any issues.
NOOSA ACCOMODATION
The Noosa race entry has gone but we are now hearing of accommodation availability that a couple of athletes have. Single bed available in a 3 bedroom apartment at The Emerald. It's booked from Thursday 2nd Nov until Tuesday 7th Nov. Lovely location in the heart of Hastings Street and just a short walk to race transition. Please PM or email for further detail [email protected].
There is also some space in the Tri-Alliance house near the race transition area. If you are interested in this please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
YARRAWONGA
Many of our athletes have in the past raced Yarrawonga in October as a warmup for the season and this year is no exception with entries going in. This year however has been made all the more important if you are looking at Qualifying for the Australian Age Group Team at the Gold Cost next year. Due to the cancellation of the Active Tri series Yarrawonga now carries the standard distance point’s race in addition to the draft legal Sprint distance in Victoria so is likely to be a busy and great event.
For entry information go to www.ymmf.com.au and local accommodation call Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism on 1800 062 260. . |
