THE END OF SUMMER

ta-athletes-3
Afraid so :(  Friday marks the first day of Autumn and the end of Summer.  Although really Melbs......as much as we L~O~V~E our warm weather, one could be forgiven for being a little confused about just what time of year it is.  Why you warm up now as we get ready to say goodbye?  Who cares...let's soak it up!
Talking about soaking it in...time for our next group of Ironman athletes (to-be) to head over the ditch and take on IMNZ.  So let's have a collective hug and send them on their way with our best wishes.  And if you've ever thought about racing in NZ, well look no further than WITSUPs article that came out this week with the top reasons why (including input from our very own Michelle G!).
Next, let's.....Stop!  Collaborate and Listen.... to our Ambassadors who have put forward their take on what it means to be racing in a TEAM #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork And whilst we're thinking about teams, think about steering clear of Elwood this Sunday, unless you want to get caught up in the 1800 teams taking part in the Corporate Tri!!!!   (ah..no thanks).  Details below about what's going on, how it'll impact our sessions and who's in charge while the boss is away!
And last but not least: our rev up for the 2XU series Club Championship, an article to educate why we run intervals, the ins and outs of CoachingMate, a schedule of road closures for the Grand Prix, a review of the new GIANT TCR Advanced and probably even more!

Let's Dig Deep & Keep Fighting

Did you hear the exciting news!!!  Tri-Alliance is sitting on TOP of the leader board after 3 races of the 2XU series!!!! Woo Hoo....How bloody awesome.  That's a hats off and a pat on the back to ALL our wonderful athletes who have contributed with their blood, sweat and tears (but mostly with gritty smiles) to make this our BEST season yet.
BUT....we're only half way through and we're not ready to rest on our laurels just yet.  Plus....ever heard of Tall Poppy...yah...we know it's a massive target and rightly so, but that's only going to make us dig deeper and try harder, right?
It's close...and I mean, real close!
SO...we wanna see EVERYONE signed up to the last 2 races to help bring home the bacon.  That's right, WE NEED YOU.

C'mon, get behind the amazing TA spirit and BRING IT HOME!

Team Work Makes the Dream Work!
This week, Gazbassador and Sambassador give us their thoughts of joining forces and taking to event weekend as part of a team.
As most of you will have noticed, we have participated in a team in a few of the recent triathlons.  While TA has had a big presence at these events on an individual basis, we’ve also entered a few teams here and there and with some success!

Triathlon is considered to be an event mainly for individuals, but have you ever considered entering   as part of a team?  There are some benefits to this!

IRONMAN NEW ZEALAND

Good Luck Across the Ditch

"With half the field coming from outside the country every year, IRONMAN New Zealand is truly the world’s most international IRONMAN.  One of the world’s biggest fresh water lakes offers arguably the best swim on the circuit. A two-loop bike course comes back through town before heading through the forests and a three-loop run course leaves you no chance to escape the thousands of spectators. IRONMAN New Zealand allows you to realize your IRONMAN potential in one of the world’s most beautiful places." (ap.ironman.com)
We are wishing our athletes all the very best for a great race.
In the Ironman event:
To Jimmy, who has overcome injury and setback and worked methodically to get his body right and get himself back to the start line, we are all behind you on this one, buddy.  And to Michelle, who has worked (mostly solo) to prepare with consistency and focus for her first Ironman, we are so happy for you and thrilled to watch you go out and achieve your goal.
Ironman New Zealand - Saturday 2nd March
7am Age Group Start
#1091 James Tyler
#1062 Michelle Paton
And to Michelle, who never ceases to amaze us with her ability to knock out event after event and her determination to keep going, we hope you 'enjoy' this one!
Ironman 70.3 New Zealand - Saturday 2nd March
8:10am Age Group Start

As if a faster time isn’t enough, here are 10 expert-backed reasons you should add more speedwork to your routine.

WIND TRAINER SESSIONS

wind-trainer-skewer-2
Let's Get Organised

Friendly reminder, windtrainer sessions are very busy! Firstly, you need to get there in plenty of time to set up and be ready to ride at 6.15pm. Secondly, due to high numbers, there are not always enough windtrainers to go around. Athletes who have their own windtrainer are encouraged to bring them along to sessions and if you have been thinking about getting one, now might be the time to do it! If you’re looking for a secondhand windtrainer or if you have any questions, send an email to [email protected]

We also have a whole bunch of NEW skewers (on order - we sold out too quickly so be patient while the new ones come in) - for sale only.  Existing athletes need to ensure they have the correct skewer to attend wind trainer sessions going forward.  You can purchase these from us at session with cash or card, or you can pre-purchase on the Tri Shop website prior to the session commencing.  Cost $10.
