“Make Adjustments, Not Excuses.”
Tri Alliance had another busy training weekend; the first weekend of this season's Try the Tri was a success, and Coach General Greg was back on duty. Rain didn't stop our aspiring triathletes! Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.

Now some exciting news...

IT'S RACE WEEK!
Good luck to our TA crew heading to Noosa Triathlon this weekend.

TRAINING UPDATES
Beach Reporting has already begun! Yay, I believe?
The water quality for our beaches are still subpar at the moment. But we continue to hold out hope—and pray to the weather gods—that things will turn around. So to be ready for everything, bring your swim gear on both Thursday and Sunday.
Note: Tuesday 1 November is a public holiday and there will be no coached session that day. If you are interested in a ride get in touch with Coach Sez for details.

TA CREW UPDATE

Angus in hospitial
Wishing Angus a Speedy Recovery!

Our talented young man Angus fell on a ride on Saturday, breaking his collar bone in three places (ouch). The procedure to put him back together went well, which was performed early Sunday. He has remained positive throughout, and we hope you recover quickly. We look forward to seeing you back on deck very soon, but most importantly, we're looking forward to having you around at training sessions, providing chuckles from the side-lines.

WEBSITE TECH ISSUES

trialliance-site
Site Disruptions

On the 23rd of September, we were infected by a malicious malware designed to interrupt our network. Its purpose is to slowly disable the site, by infecting the functionality of the site. Within a few days this had shut down various subsites on our network, eventually affecting our core functionality. As you will recall you were not able to access your programs via the Coachingmate app :(

Our Dev team had worked through cleaning the infections that had affected our plugins (functionality) and were able to have us up and running again several days later.

Unfortunately, both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge had blocked the Tri Alliance network indicating we are an infected site. We had our team go to work again, combing through everything with no result of any issues.  I have later found that by increasing the security feature for our network, it flags a false-positive event that sets off Chrome and Edge alerts and blocks our site.

We have now resolved this issue with the result being the site is back up and running, minus the warnings you have all been receiving when navigating to Tri Alliance.

Your information and any payment details:

From the beginning we have always worked with secure gateway partners. None of your financial information via your membership or Tri Shop purchases are held with Tri Alliance. So please, rest assured that your information is safe. This attack was focused on disrupting the site and functionality, not obtaining personal details like you are seeing in the press with large scale companies.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

RETULS ARE BACK

Liv-Cycling Women's Specific Bikes
It's Time to Get You Fitted

Unfortunately, after 12 years of use and over 400 fits our Retul unit died.
The normal solution is to send it back to Boulder USA for repairs but sadly they no longer support this model, and the only solution was to trade-in for the current unit. This is 6k USD some 10k AUD in current exchange, plus import duties. This was not an option for us.

Gratefully, a saviour amongst the team has come to the rescue and we have received a generous sponsorship!  We could not let this go unnoticed. Due to his amazing support, we are able to offer Retul bike fits again!!!!!

If you are looking to book in for a bike fit (after Igor), please use this link below.

WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS

HE'S BACK!
Coach Greg is back and in full force! No swimming? No problem, we began the session with strength training and dryland band work. A great training weekend was had by all. Athletes had to run the same course, start at the same time, and stop at a pop-up aid station to simulate race day nutrition and experience.

"It doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."

Welcome New Athletes

We had a brave bunch of newbies join us Saturday morning for their first session of TTT.  The weather was enough to turn most athletes off, so we were impressed to see nearly 30 nervous-but-excited faces give it a go.  It rained, there were puddles, but there were also some great bike handling skills to be learned.  Special shout out to Ben and Chamara who stayed after their session to give our newest athletes a hand.  And to The Captain (Gaz), Big Boss (Ollie) and Mini Boss (Oscar) who all coached with patience and passion in the non-stop rain - well done team!
