Welcome to the final week of Stage 4 Restrictions - woohoo, we made it! Better days are coming and they suddenly don't feel as far away as they once were. Melburnians are smashing lockdown, as tough as it has been, and it is hoped that we'll be reaping the benefits of our hard work and sacrifices very soon. Hang in there...and in the meantime, it's time to race!

Registrations are open for the first ever Tri-Alliance Virtual Race Series! The series details have been emailed to all athletes who completed an expression of interest. If you didn't get the email but are interested in joining us, read on below for all the details. There are lots of ways you can be involved and prizes on offer, there's something for everyone! The best bit is, we're going to have fun together and pass the last weeks of lockdown at the same time!

This is build week one of our pre-race phase and there has already been so many of you out there getting back into things, perhaps motivated by the new program, extra sunlight hours or upon seeing light at the end of the lockdown tunnel. Whatever the reason, it's great to see people training whether it's in the Zoom room or out on the road and track.

Those who raced the 2XU Triathlon Series last season will have received communications in the past week notifying entrants of the cancellation of the final race that was scheduled for the end of October. This brings to a close the 2XU Triathlon Series 19/20 Season and with that comes congratulations to those who raced, read on below for full results.

This week we also have a call for contributions to our recipe of the week section, as well as an article for those needing to set up on Zwift ahead of the Race Series starting this weekend, training reminders and as always, the opportunity to check in with Head Coach Ollie.

Once again, don't forget to check in with others to make sure they are okay or just to let them know they are missed...or perhaps get out the ruler to see if your 5km zones overlap and start planning a picnic! If you can, please reach out if you need some support or someone to connect to during this time. Supporting each other no matter what is the TA way, and the Tri-Alliance family is all stronger for it.

19/20 Series Results

The 2XU Triathlon Series 19/20 Season was potentially the best season yet thanks to the legendary team from O2 Events, along with all the partners involved including some very special TA partners in Lakeside Sports Medicine Centre, Orca Australia, On Running and Giant Ormond. Unfortunately, the series came to an abrupt end with the last two races of the series postponed due to COVID-19 and now, with the big bonanza finale for late October cancelled.

However, planning is underway and dates have been announced for this coming season...cross your fingers for some great racing in 2021!

For now, we reflect on the 19/20 Series where we saw rain-cancelled swims, smoky haze from bushfires and everything in between! The results are in and it's time to congratulate everyone who put a foot up to the line and got out to race!

Congratulations to 2XU Triathlon Series athletes who finished in the top 3 of their respective age groups:
Andrea Stranna - 3rd

Tri-Alliance had another great season, finishing in second place in the club series points. Congratulations to every single athlete for your contribution to our awesome team! Whether you raced, cheered, baked, cooked BBQs, set up tents, packed up chairs...whatever your involvement, big or small, it is appreciated and we look forward to doing it all again soon!
