Finally! Race week is here! The first race of the 2XU Triathlon Series is on THIS SUNDAY and we could not be more excited to get the season underway. Our short-course athletes are primed and ready, and we have a great group of beginner athletes making their debut having recently graduated from the Try-the-Tri program. New in 2017/18, Tri-Alliance will bring you a TA Athlete Guide, whether you’re a seasoned athlete, racing for the first time, or simply need to blow the cobwebs out after a long Winter/Spring, follow the link to get the best out of your big day.

Michelle Grocock, you are an Ironman.... again!

A very, very big congratulations to long-course athlete, Michelle Grocock who made the trek to Arizona to tick off one of her bucket list races this week to complete her eighth IRONMAN and her first internationally. 

Our resident globetrotter stayed strong and used the mental toughness we've all come to know and admire, as she battled a tough bike leg and sore toes!

She capped off with a 10/10 finish line photo, the jump was AWESOME!

Over the last six weeks, we've had a fresh new intake of athletes taking the plunge into the sport of triathlon, and as such have been training with us in the lead up to Race 1 at Elwood this Sunday.

We wanted to congratulate this group, and commend them on their dedication to their training, particularly as they have learnt the art of swimming, riding, running and transitions over the last six weeks.

Either way, they’re all ready to graduate and smash their goals! We’re wishing all of them the very best of luck on the day. Go out there and enjoy and keep smiling! Check out their Hollywood-style performances in our short Tri-Alliance film!

Our successful Falls Creek Altitude Training Camp is again going ahead, however with 25 spots available, we are asking athletes for an expression of interest ahead of this years camp. 

If you are racing long course in early 2018 (Geelong 70.3 and Challenge Melbourne) this camp is highly recommended for you to gain a training spike,  and lift your competitive edge in a team environment. You'll be training and sleeping at altitude, providing you the perfect opportunity to make some serious gains.

Ambassador Nominations

We’ve had an OVERWHELMING response to our call for 2017/18 Ambassadors, with loads of worthy and deserving athletes being nominated. We’re so excited with the passion, enthusiasm and ambition we’re reading about – the culture in the squad is HIGH! A male and female TA athlete will represent Tri-Alliance throughout the season, demonstrating their willingness to be encouraging of others, to represent the TA way, to show dedication to their training and racing goals, as well as being a positive and lovable character around the squad.

Nominations Close on Friday 1st December with the ambassadors announced on December 7th.

We have are continuing to have a very popular program of Try-the-Tri participants this year with a good showing of athletes in the First 100 promotion leading into race 1. Now we have released our third Try-the-Tri program with already 25 participants registered.

HELL WEEK

Hell Week - as the name suggests, is a week comprising of swimming, riding and running every day. In a nutshell, you'll be competing a mini triathlon every day for one week, which replaces normal timetable sessions in late December.

Hell Week aims to provide athletes with a serious spike in their training, running from December 23 to December 30, with the exception of Christmas Day. 

The trick is to do a little bit each day, where you can. Distances are set according to abilities but the key is to see if you can do some everyday – you’ll be much stronger and ready for the bulk of the season post Christmas. More details will be released nearer the time but get it in your diary.

We are looking at getting a new batch of Tri-suits for the forthcoming season but will only order once we have 25.  At this stage we only have 13 people interested in new suits.  Please if you are after one fill out the details in this survey and we will be in touch. The new suits will have a better back panel so as to ensure the garment is not see through when wet and stretched :-)
