Can you believe the forecast for this weekend? Now, I know The General would have a thing or two to say about reading/predicting/debating what the weather ‘could’ be and only controlling what is in your control. But seriously! Could we not just have a race weekend with a summer-like forecast for our summer-like sport….please! We are usually basking in the St Kilda sunshine for the last race of the season, but it doesn’t look promising this weekend. Whilst the prediction is for 10mm of rain to fall on Saturday, let’s just wait and see what actually comes down. We know the boys from O2 Events will be doing everything in their power to ensure the race goes ahead, with a swim.
And at the same time and just up the Princess Highway, we will have over 20 athletes taking on Ironman Geelong 70.3. We have seasoned competitors, first time long course athletes, teammates and even a race official all representing. This race was originally scheduled for mid-February, so athletes have had an extra 5 weeks to prepare. This has suited some athletes; challenged others and even prevented some from racing. We wish all those going around on Sunday the very best for a great race. May it be everything you hoped (and worked hard) for!!! Check out the Tri-Alliance start list below.
This edition also has our final round of Race Day Prep links to help get you organised and ready to race. There are entry instructions, recon info, TriKids vollies callout, trisuit and laces shopping links and the ever-important checklist. You won’t miss a beat with all of this.
And to celebrate the end of the 2021 2XU series and Geelong 70.3 we are heading out Sunday afternoon for a catch up. If you can make it, please join us at the Newmarket Hotel in St Kilda from 4pm for some casual tipples and tales.
We also want to remind everyone about the awesome partnership we have with ON Running, whereby you can get 20% discount off their products. You order through the TriShop, but if you can’t find what you need, just let us know. We may not have the styles and colours up to date, but we can get you whatever you need…just ask!
And speaking of deals, Garmin have just come out with some great savings for the month of April! All the details below. Get in touch if you are interested.
And finally, to give you the heads up on some upcoming changes to the MSAC timetable, read below as we get our squad swim sessions back on track from April.
