Tri-Alliance-On-Running

As we begin week three of lockdown, let's shift our focus to our second strength phase which kicks off next week and takes us all the way through until mid September! Anyone else feeling like time is both flying and crawling by?? You should see your new program from next week and hopefully with that comes new enthusiasm and motivation.

Staying connected and staying active together #physicallydistant #sociallyconnected is now more important than ever so make sure you join our online sessions to see a friendly face and be inspired and motivated together! Don't forget to also check in with a coach if you're struggling to find motivation. Our coaches are more than happy to chat, share their experiences and hopefully help reignite that spark!

Speaking of sharing experiences...if all of the above is not enough to get you motivated this week...we have a story for you! We have the absolute privilege of hearing a story from our wonderful friend, Mario. It's not everyday you hear a story like this one and it's pretty good that we know the story ends well because it could have so very easily gone the other way! Thanks for bravely sharing, Mario.

This week we also have a reminder of all the virtual sessions and timetabling to make sure you're across all that is happening, as well as a link to some clarity on the cycling restrictions from Cycling Vic. We also have a podcast recommendation, lockdown activity tips, and all the details for the very exciting virtual event this Friday...the Tri-Alliance Trivia Night!

As always, don’t forget to reach out if you need some support or someone to connect to during this time. We have all been there for each other so far and if we continue to look after and support each other, we will all be stronger for it.

As you have seen, we have a few different faces across the week running our sessions now and we hope you are enjoying this change of scenery! The content of these sessions may at times be complimentary to what appears in your program, so you really don't want to miss out on being online at the session.

Own your mistakes

This event, although traumatic and incredibly scary at the time, changed my life for the better and I still draw on it today when things get tough and I hope it can do the same for you. So grab a cup of tea and let me share a story of near tragedy, hope, owning your mistakes and never ever giving up.

Podcast recommendation

Do you ever struggle with your running? Feel sluggish or slow? Does it feel like you're the only one that feels like that? It's completely normal to feel like this, everyone feels like that at one point or another...even the pros! TA family member, Jake, has shared a podcast with us. Melbourne-based runners chat honestly and openly about running. Their runs are on another level compared to most of us (think 3min kms and 15km recovery runs!) but we do hope that hearing that even the best have bad days might be an inspiring listen for everyone!
