Oh yeah.... it’s time for the local triathlon scene to get underway! This Sunday will see the first of the 2XU races get underway on our home turf, Elwood! And we will have a whole B U N C H of athletes in yellow and blue towing the line. Shout out now to our first group of Try the Tri athletes making their debut for the team. Make sure you pop along to be part of the fun, cheer them on, help them out or just to grab a sausage. We’ll have the full TA TAJ hospitalities going, with Lakeside Sports Medicine for pre and post massages, ElliptiGO to help warm you up, BBQ to refuel the bods and of course the mega-complex to house all your belongings and keep you (dry, warm, shaded, sheltered….who knows?!?) on the day. We’re doing a call up for helpers with the Tri Kids race, tent and BBQ prep, so please follow prompts below. If you’ve left getting yourselves organised until the last minute, we can help. New 2018 tri suits are IN STOCK and can be in your hot little hands for race day. Improved fabric, improved comfortability, and improved athlete appeal (#BeMoreLikeDan), need we say more?!? We’ve also got elastic laces, Body Glide, Shotz Nutrition and probably everything else you’ll need. Just get in touch or grab us at a session and we’ll hook you up!
And whilst we’re all racing here in Melbs, were sending GOOD LUCK racing vibes to Simon Gronow, who will be heading north to compete in Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney this weekend. Simon has been doing his prep with a couple of our Busso ladies and coming off the back of Noosa, should be heading in with a good build. We wish you the very best for the day, Simon and hope Penrith Lake is calm, the scenic ride with views of the Blue Mountains has the wind at your back and the run course along The Great River Walk is flat and full of friendly faces! We look forward to reading the race report.
Do you L~O~V~E triathlon as much as we do? Well, we’re on the hunt for the next TA Ambassadors. You don’t have to be the best athlete with the best results, you just have to be dedicated, consistent and want to share your experience, support and encouragement with fellow team mates. Deets below, but we need nominations in A-S-A-P so we can open the voting lines and get the envelopes ready for unveiling on December 6th at our Melb Street Eatz social night. So, who do you think would make a good Ambassador?
And don’t miss one of our key social events on the TA calendar…the Christmas party! Lawn bowls, BBQ nibbles and festive drinks at St Kilda bowling club from 3pm on 16th December. Due to the popular success of Stealing Santa, we are expanding this year to include the lads. So, if you would like to partake in a bit of fun and nonsense, get your ticket NOW.
Change of pace… November = Movember and now is the time to sit up and take notice about some of the biggest health issues facing men. Across the world, men die an average 6 years younger than women, and for reasons that are largely preventable, which means it doesn’t have to be that way. Two of our own have joined the movement and we want to get behind them. You’ll see Andy sporting a rainbow mohawk, but what colour will Dan’s mo be? Please take the time to read about their Mo Campaigns below.
Ok…this week is a big one….so is next week….and so it the week after…. Heck, it’ll be busy from now until Christmas. So, keep reading to keep up to date with all the Tri Alliance goodness. Time to READ ON team! |
