Is it just me, or does it feel like in the blink of an eye we are rounding out 2021?!?!?! Lockdowns seemed to drag on, but yet the year seemed to pass by so quickly. So, in our final edition of The Weekly Transition for 2021, we want to say a very big THANK YOU to all of you!
You, the members and athletes, are the backbone of our squad. We know we have something very special at Tri-Alliance, and it is YOU that are the integral part. Without all of your wonderful support, your comradery and your encouragement of one another, none of this could be possible. It creates a genuine culture that nurtures each individual and makes the squad an open and caring space where everyone can achieve their best.
We are excited to be back to a full training and racing calendar and are looking forward to bigger and better things ahead in 2022.
In these final weeks, it has been great to see so many faces taking on the Hell Week challenge. What a great way to lead into Christmas with a spike in your training. Remember to stick within your limits and prioritise quality over quantity. The aim is to get you to the end of the week, rather than having to opt out early due to doing too much! Hell Week will go through until Boxing Day, and you have permission to take off Christmas Day!
It was also great to catch up with so many of you, sans lycra, at our Christmas party over the weekend. Big thank you to Neda who did all the organising for the party and to Team Tunas who did all the prep and cooking of the meat. We had lots of people bring sweet treats and other bits and pieces, including Santa hats for all (thanks Ben!), and we had fun playing bowls and dodging the storm at the same time. Little O was also in his element, socialising for the entire time and sabotaging some games with a little tap of the ball (for and against) or moving the jack mid-game! Best on Ground awarded to Sarah, for ….. deservedly letting her hair down!
And last but now least, Sunday was the perfect time to announce our ambassadors for the season! Big congratulations to Matty and Lisa for stepping into the roles. We are really looking forward to letting the squad know more about you through some upcoming NL chats and of course seeing your smiling faces at a session soon.
Well, that’s it from us! Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Spend some time with family, friends and loved ones and enjoy just being together. We look forward to seeing all of you in 2022 for a cracking year ahead!
