RACE WEEK ROLLS ON

2xu-race-1-elwood

The 2XU Triathlon Series kicked off on the weekend and in the words of Head Coach Ollie, “the event has never been this good in the 15 or so years that Tri-Alliance has been involved” – wow! We are so excited and happy for Jordan, Kane and their small team who started O2 Events in order to keep the series alive. Not only have they kept it alive, they have made it bigger and better than ever! We are also equally excited to be a part of it, along with our partners Orca, Lakeside Sports Medicine, Giant Ormond, On and Garmin. With Race 1 done and dusted, it’s only going to get better from here…and so too is the weather…we hope!

They say Melbourne has four seasons in one day, but we had four seasons in the space of about an hour for Race 1 on Sunday! The poor kids and fun tri athletes had to battle their way through what could have easily been mistaken for a surf beach, with some bonus rain and wind! Whilst the rain had passed and the wind somewhat calmed in time for the sprint, there was still decent chop for swimmers to navigate before battling what felt like a headwind each and every way on the bike, but then the sun poked through the clouds like nothing had ever happened just in time for the run. Congratulations to all athletes who raced, and to those who came to support.

A huge shout out goes to Mary, Laetitia and Sandra who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, and Adrian who came 1st, all in their FIRST EVER triathlon!! And to Jen for her 3rd place in the Fun Tri. These five are graduates of Try the Tri #1 for the season and we think they may just be hooked! Congrats to Juliet Forsyth, Anthony Cuzzupe, Michael Grey and Jasper Wijnands for their podium finishes. Another huge congratulations goes to Steve Mudler who ran the whole 5km of his sprint distance race, and to Baz who after finishing his own race, went back out and ran the last 1km with Steve - this is the true spirit of both triathlon and Tri-Alliance, it’s not all about podiums but about striving to reach goals we never thought possible and supporting each other to do so. #allthewarmfuzzies Follow the link below for a full list of results.

We can’t wait for Race 2 in Sandringham in just 3 weeks.  But in the meantime, we have Western Sydney 70.3 athletes to cheer on this weekend (Go Oli, Dan and Andy), Busso athletes to get behind in their final push, Ambassadors to nominate and a Christmas Party to get excited for!

COACHINGMATE

The App is Live!

Hi Team,

The highly anticipated program and membership app on the Apple App store and Google Play store are now both live.  It would be appreciated if all athletes download the app going forward, regardless of your membership status.  Our new app not only has a comprehensive way of delivering your programs, but it now holds your membership cards ready for scanning by our coaching team at sessions.

Why be scanned into sessions?
This helps out coaching team monitor all athletes via our traffic light algorithm to follow up on athletes. It shows that you have completed a session if you are a programmed athlete.
It helps us plan bookings for facilities and coaching resources.

Benefits of the app for programmed athletes?
One time login, you no longer need to login every time you open the app or old website.
A faster, more efficient experience with more of the heavy lifting done locally on your phone.
More flexibility how you view your planner, program and sessions.
And very soon, all your training data from Garmin will be visible on the app as well.
TRI ALLIANCE
AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

2019-ta-ambassadors
The TA Way

Do you love Triathlon as much as we do?

Every year, we're excited to find a male and female athlete to become a Tri-Alliance Ambassador for the upcoming Triathlon Season and share their experience, support and encouragement with fellow team mates.

To be an ambassador for Tri-Alliance, you don’t have to be the best athlete with the best results, you just have to be dedicated, consistent and openly support the TA Way.

Tri-Alliance Ambassadors will display characteristics such as positive and motivational attitude, consistently train and attend Tri-Alliance coached sessions, encourage and support fellow athletes and have a genuine and strong passion for Tri-Alliance and the sport of Triathlon.

In return, Tri-Alliance in conjunction with our partners, ON Running, Giant Ormond and Orca, will support YOU and your training through apparel and product support.

IMPORTANT TIMELINE:
Nominations are open NOW and closing Wednesday 4th Dec.
Voting will commence following.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Xmas

~ SUNDAY 15th DECEMBER ~

A key social event on our calendar!
Christmas is the festive season – and triathletes are no different than everyone else (well, maybe……) but we all still celebrate Christmas and this event is looked forward to each year. It’s a time to get together, (outside of lycra), relax, have fun and be merry!

Lawn bowls, BBQ nibbles and festive drinks (LFBs for many of us) at St Kilda bowling club from 3pm onwards.

Due to the popular success of Secret Santa, we are again expanding it to include the lads.  So if you would like to partake in a bit of fun and nonsense, hit the link below.
