Duathlon Race Report

On Saturday, Andrea Crompton took on the wet and wild conditions at Sandown Racecourse for the first race in the Victorian Duathlon Series. Competing in the Dash/Para Dash event, she braved sideways rain, wind, and bitterly cold temperatures to secure a stellar performance. Andrea completed the run-ride-run format with a 1.5km run, 9.3km ride, and 750m run, finishing in an impressive 43:32. Her efforts earned her 1st place in her age group and 3rd female overall.

Andrea used this challenging race as a learning experience to understand the format better. She is now gearing up for the next race, where it will really count, as Caribbean Gardens hosts Race 2 of the 2024 Victorian Duathlon Series on 28th July. This event will see the Victorian Duathlon State Champions crowned, and Andrea is ready to put her newfound experience to the test.
