IT'S RACE WEEK:
The Starting Line of the Season Ahead!
Here we go, team - the first race of the 2XU Triathlon Series is here! The buzz is real, the excitement is building, and the squad is ready to light up Elwood Beach this Sunday. After weeks of training, fine-tuning transitions, and sweating it out, it’s finally time to put all that hard work to the test.

This week, routine is your best friend. Stick to your usual sessions - run Tuesday morning, wind trainer Tuesday night, combo Thursday, and your regular swim sets. From Thursday or Friday, we’ll back off the intensity to freshen up for the weekend. Just remember: no extra gym, CrossFit, or weight training after Wednesday. Trust the process, keep your body moving, and you’ll hit the start line strong and ready to race!

I’m deliberately keeping this blog short - there’s so much important detail packed into this newsletter. Make sure you read through to the end for Ollie’s powerful piece on The Mirror Test, a reminder of personal accountability as we head into race day.

A quick shout-out to Andy, who took on the Point to Pinnacle in Tasmania yesterday - a gruelling half marathon dubbed the world’s toughest, climbing 1,270m to the summit of Mount Wellington. Andy smashed it with a net time of 3:22:46 - amazing work!

Now it’s your turn. Whether it’s your first race or your fiftieth, we’re all in this together. The cheers, the squad support, and the energy of race day will carry you through. Let’s make this season opener one to remember - see you on the start line! 💙💛

PRE-RACE SESSION

The day before race day…woohoo! 🎉

Join us at Elwood Beach just before 7am for a light and easy session to get race-ready. We’ll start with one lap of the bike course, followed by a short run off the bike, and finish with a refreshing swim in the bay. All efforts will be easy— just enough to keep the body primed for Sunday!

Afterward, we’ll set up the TA Taj (Tri-Alliance Tent) — your squad hub on race day. This is where we’ll hang out, get ready, and store our bags.

Make sure to bring everything you need for the session. Since we’ll be riding on the road, pack your lights, phone, sunglasses, and helmet. Wear whatever you’re comfortable riding and running in, but most athletes opt for their trisuit for an easy transition between activities.

And remember: nothing new on race day! If you’ve got gear to test, this is your final chance. See you there! 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏊‍♀️

TriClub Championship
TRI-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2024/2025 2XU Triathlon Series is here, and it's time to represent Tri-Alliance in the Tri-Club Championship! 🏆

Here’s how it works:
When registering for any race, select 'Tri-Alliance' as your club to make sure your results contribute to our club points. If you’ve already registered but didn’t select the club, don’t worry—you can update your registration via your confirmation email (just ensure all changes are made before each race deadline).

How Points are Scored:
- Participation: Each club member competing in a Timed Triathlon (Olympic, Sprint, or Fun Tri) earns one point.
- Top Performances: Finish in the top 5 of your category (excluding Family & Friends) to earn bonus points.
- Club Score: The top 15 scores from our club at each race will count towards our overall points.
- Aggregate Points: Final standings are determined by the total points scored across all six races.

Why It Matters:
The Tri-Club Championship isn’t just about racing—it’s about community, camaraderie, and making our presence felt on race day. Let’s bring our squad spirit, dominate the points table, and show what Tri-Alliance is made of!

💥 Bonus Tip: Don’t forget to use the Tri-Alliance Discount Code: TRIALLIANCE for race entries.

This is our chance to shine—every race, every category, every athlete counts. Let’s rack up those points and claim victory together! 💪

Race Day Success
TIPS FOR RACE DAY SUCCESS

Success on race day starts with smart preparation and a clear mindset. Here are our top five tips to ensure you’re ready to shine:

  1. Fuel Wisely – Stick to the nutrition plan you’ve practiced, and don’t try anything new. Stay hydrated and keep your energy topped up throughout.
  2. Gear Check – Double-check your equipment the night before: bike, shoes, goggles, and race essentials. Lay everything out to avoid last-minute panic.
  3. Focus Your Mind – Visualise your race, break it into segments, and remind yourself why you’re here. A positive mindset will carry you through.
  4. Pace Yourself – Start steady, race smart, and save something for the finish. Stick to your plan and avoid being influenced by others.
  5. Recover Right – Celebrate your effort, refuel, and take time to stretch and cool down post-race to set yourself up for faster recovery.

Stay calm, trust your preparation, and give it your all. You’ve got this!

TriKids Support
TRIKIDS SUPPORT
The future stars of triathlon will be taking the stage on Sunday morning in the TriKids race, and we need your help to make their day unforgettable!

We’re calling for volunteers to lend a hand with simple tasks like organising kids into age groups, guiding them to the start line, helping with gear after the swim, moving bikes, and, most importantly, cheering them on with endless smiles and high fives!

It’s an easy, fun way to give back to the sport and support the next generation. Meet us at the TA Tent at 6:30am for a quick briefing in the kids transition at 6:40am. The more, the merrier—let’s rally around these little legends and make it a day they’ll always remember! 🌟
Mirror Test
THE MIRROR TEST REMINDER

When you stand at the start line, there’s only one person to answer to: yourself. The Mirror Test is simple—have you done the work? Have you prepared as best as you could for the race ahead?

It’s not about comparing yourself to others; it’s about knowing you’ve held yourself accountable and done everything within your control to be ready. Look in the mirror and ask: Did I give it my best?

Race day is your chance to show up for yourself and execute what you’ve worked so hard to build. Win or lose, succeed or stumble, the effort you’ve put in is what truly counts. So, give it everything, and race with pride knowing you’re the best version of yourself on the day.

Remember, the mirror doesn’t lie. Let’s make it proud! 🏆
