Welcome to Race Week! It’s the moment we’ve been working toward. The first SC start line of the season is this weekend with Race #1 of the 2XU Triathlon Series Race #1 – Elwood. So, dust off your race gear, double-check your kit and get ready to bring the energy. This week marks the culmination of months of dedication, early mornings, tired legs and big dreams. Let’s make it count.
🏁 Pre-Race Session & TriKids CrewPre-Race Session: Meet at the Elwood Life Saving Club by 6:45am. We’ll ride one lap of the bike course (~13km), followed by a quick run off the bike (1–2.5 km), then finish with a swim in the bay. Easy effort, high purpose. Then we’ll get the TA tent setup. It'll be your base for race day. Bring everything: helmet, lights, phone, trisuit, sunnies… you know the drill. Ride, run, swim, in one morning. Fun? Yes. Effective? Absolutely. TriKids Race: These little legends are up first thing on Sunday morning. We’re looking for friendly faces to help out: lining up AGs, walking them to the start line, racking bikes, handing out encouragement and high-fives. Meet at the TA Tent at 6:30am for briefing. It’s all part of the team vibe...big hearts, big smiles.
💡Mental Game: Race Week MindsetThis week isn’t about training harder, it’s about sharpening your mindset. Race week means focused sessions, purposeful rest and being confident when you roll up at the start line. Stay relaxed, stay alert, and remember: you’ve done the work. Trust the block, trust the process and show up ready to execute.
🔬 Sweat Test Opportunity – EOI Open!Want to race smarter this season? We’re teaming up with MX3 Diagnostics to run a Tri-Alliance sweat testing session, and we’re opening it up to the squad to gauge interest. 👉 When: A Tuesday night (exact date TBC based on numbers) 👉 Where: Indoor wind trainer session (trainers can be provided) 👉 Who: Led by Head Coach Ollie + the team from MX3 👉 Why: Know your exact sweat rate Learn your sodium loss Build an accurate race-day hydration strategy Stop guessing and start fuelling like an athlete
Sweat testing is one of the most valuable pieces of data you can have heading into race season, especially in summer. If you’d like to participate, email [email protected] and we’ll lock in a date based on interest. Open to ALL levels...newbies to long-course weapons.
🥇Shout-out to AndyMassive kudos to Andy Wood‑Rich who tackled the Point to Pinnacle (Tasmania) on Sunday 16 Nov 2025. A half-marathon with 21km + ~1,270m elevation from sea level to the summit of Mt Wellington. Andy clocked 02:58:44 (breaking the 3hr barrier this year), finishing 46th in his 50-54 AG. That’s strength and commitment in its purest form. Well done, Andy!
✅ Wrap-UpRace Week is here...the wait is over and the moment is now. You’ve put in the foundations, now it’s time to deploy them. Ride with purpose, run with speed, swim with control, and above all: enjoy it. The squad’s ready and you’re more ready than you know. See you at the start line, 💛 Team TA
