What a jam-packed weekend of fun, with an adventurous latte ride and a successful TA EOS Awards night! We took the latte ride to the north side and had coffee at the Boathouse in Maribyrnong. Changing up your rides to new destinations not only keeps your training interesting, but it can also help you improve your cycling skills! We rode on bike paths, bridges, and the occasional dirt path, each of which required a unique set of skills and strength. Similar to what Coach Greg says about trail running 🤔
As for the Awards Night, it felt great to have everything back to normal and to be able to celebrate a successful season. Congratulations to our award night winners! Check out results below. All very well deserved! Who is looking forward to the next social night??

Training updates: FAT APRIL Phase
*MSAC swims are back to normal all week
* No Tuesday & Thursday AM sessions during recovery month
(but reach out to our LC athletes still in training)
* Sunday Swim & Run session is back this week with Coach Greg.
See schedule for times and locations.

And remember to always check the weather and appropriately for sessions (especially rides!). Don't forget to check out our winter collection to ensure you are in the right cycling gear.

Kona Qualifier - Mario
Mario Staffieri - Acceptance Speech
I’ve just landed in the transit lounge in Singapore on my way to London and opened my phone. I nearly fainted. One award, two awards, three awards. Is this a joke? No, it’s real. I’m stunned. Honoured but stunned. So, wish I was there to share it with everyone and all I can say is thank you.
Getting the Kona spot was a surprise to me, and it looks like my surprises don’t end there. Every time I have watched the John Cornish tribute video, I can’t help but tear up and to think my name now goes alongside the legends that have received this in the past is making me emotional now.
Thank you all and Zoolander? Greg, you must have enjoyed putting that together, but it just shows you can get results without taking yourself too seriously.
Can’t wait to see you all upon my return in a few weeks. I love you
all.

winter-cycling-gear

“There’s no such thing as bad weather – just bad clothing choices.”

When you’re riding on a cold, wet and windy day, you want to be as warm and as comfortable as you can. We have a guide for those new to Winter riding, to help you avoid learning from a very cold and miserable experience of your own!

The guide talks about a lot of gear and you can wear some or (like me) often all of it at once. The key is LAYERS. Even on the coldest day, you will heat up as you grind up the hills and then become freezing cold as the wind slices through you on the descents or you hit a gully where it appears all the cold air was hiding and waiting to slap you off your bike!

"You’ll find me on my bike this weekend."
