HELLO RECOVERY MONTH

latte-ride

This is the perfect week to embrace all that Recovery Phase has to offer;  It's recovery week, we've seen the last of the local racing scene and it's Easter Week.  So make sure you take the time for you!  And echo the words of Cadel Evans:

A touch of laziness in a driven athlete - in balance - can be a good thing; many a driven athlete has exhausted himself or herself in training before the competition has even started.

So, time to leave the race prep to our Ironman athletes who are on track for Port Mac and Cairns and time to get used to the Latte Rides!  Time to get the body and the mind refreshed for another season ahead.

So with that in mind, take note of our revised timetable for this week and know what's on and when to have a LLD (little lie down).  No use burning all your matches before the season has even started!

Quick reminders:
* End of Season Party - there are only 25 tickets left!!!  Get in quick!!!
* Nominate now for Athlete Awards
*Get your head around Lorne Camp.  Spots go on sale start of May
* Garmin 935 - only 1 left at $375

RECOVERY MONTH

APRIL - Recovery & Transition Phase

For the majority of our athletes, April is the month to recover and have some time off from triathlon. Recovery at the end of a racing season is extremely important and will have a direct impact on your training and more importantly—racing, over the next season.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF A RECOVERY AND TRANSITION PHASE?
  • Physiological Recovery
  • Psychological Recovery
  • Immune System Recovery
  • Recovery from recurring or niggling injuries

We will be looking to put together a line up of activities for the month of April, which are aimed at allowing you to have a break from ‘normal’ triathlon training and have some FUN while still maintaining fitness.  These started last weekend with our first latte ride to the Sydicate Room.  Keep an eye out on the socials for further details.
