We hope you are well rested and ready to return stronger! Our Thailand athletes have struggled to adjust to Melbourne's cold weather (especially Coach Ollie!).  Do we feel sorry for them.....not really!

We only have a final few hill rides before Spring (only 3 weeks of Winter left!!!).  Make sure you get along to them and work the strength.  Remember, strong athletes = fast athletes. Congratulations to everyone who came out to our Time Trial on Thursday at Albert Park. It was wonderful to see so many new faces!! A good session to start your journey with Tri Alliance and even better to capture that all-important data.  You can't improve what you don't measure.

Time for a check in...How are things going for everyone? Do you think you're getting stronger? Before we start the triathlon season, book a catch up with Coach Ollie, Gaz, or Greg about your next training phase/goal.  Shoot them an email:

TRI CAMP

Queenscliff-Camp
Pre-Season Camp in Queenscliff

Get race ready with a spike in training in Spring over three days.  It's the perfect launchpad into the new racing season.

Located along the stunning Bellarine Peninsula and situated on the waters of the heads, Queenscliff boasts terrific terrain for cycling, picturesque run trails along the coast and swimming in a beach that offers a variety of surf and flat waters.

Our combo sessions will be in full swing, with the preseason camp aimed at race-specific training, including all triathlon fundamentals and transition practice.

Groups will be split into race goals.  So whether you’re short or long course, opting for Olympic, Sprint or Fun during the coming series, or lacing up for Busstleton in December – there is something for everyone.

This is a whole team camp, so all levels are encouraged to attend to gain a final training spike before jumping into our preseason preparation phase.

Head HERE for even more details. Price confirmed at $465

We can only go ahead if we have enough numbers so we are seeking expressions of interest ASAP.

Proposed dates: Fri 23 Sept* - Sun 25 Sept
Accommodation 2 nights

THANYAPURA HIGHLIGHTS

Truly there were too many highlights for me to pick one but what I really enjoyed was the Tri-Alliance family feeling of how we're all supporting each other in this mad endeavour, all with a smile, a high five, and a bit of gentle ribbing - none more so than seeing Mario running from the wrong direction after his 14k, arms in the air, as if he'd reached the oasis after being lost in the desert, having done the first loop correctly, then blaming Andy for not being there for the second loop, and finally trying to tell Ollie he'd done it to do a few extra hills! There were also so many great photos but I chose this one cos even I can't figure out what we're all trying to synchronise...

Funniest comment came from Sarah. In our attempt to catch the main riding group and trying to get our maps to work Sarah used her initiative and asked the first cyclist that came past β€œ you speak English, you know bakery ride” the cyclists out to lunch look on his face answered the question. So funny. But failing to catch the group we found our own bakery and after popular demand it has now been made part of future trips. It’s called β€œ Joeys bakery β€œ

As a beginner athlete at an advanced camp I came into it quite intimidated. However soon realised that it didn't matter, the encouragement and camaraderie was just amazing. It truly made me feel like I could do anything.
