Another productive training weekend. Congratulations to those who made it to the hills - rain, shine and wind. Repeat after me: what doesn't break you makes you stronger! You will only improve if you step outside of your comfort zone.

Week Two Build - Keep up the good work!
Most of you are probably tired and your legs are heavy. That's fine; recovery week is just around the corner. We guarantee that the benefits will be worth it! For our Melbourne Marathon athletes... There are only two weeks left (and one long run!).

TRAINING UPDATES
MSAC Swim - We will still have four lanes available this Monday and Wednesday.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings continue on (make sure you get yourself to these sessions). 

Speaking of ON... again. Did you get a chance to try out their new range? A reminder to purchase from our TriShop to get your discount. 

Last week of Hill rides - This week: Kinglake!
LC ride will start at 6:30am from Kew.
SC ride will start at 7am from Eltham.
* Ride Update: weather is looking a little ominous (again).  Please stay tuned to the socials later in the week for any necessary changes due to weather.
NEW: Sunday runs at the Tan. Meet coach Sez at 8am at the Pillars of Wisdom (LC & SC both Welcome).

The Big Bike Film Night

 Here's something that may interest you.  An upcoming bike film festival screening at the Village Cinemas Jam Factory, South Yarra, that brings the world's best cycling short films together for our audiences.

It's geared to inspire, with an absolutely breathtaking range of short cycling films that celebrate the fun, adventure, and inspiration that cycling enables, whatever your ride is; and this year's collection has 12 films, runs for just over 2 hours and 20 minutes.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

***Strength/Endurance Phase - Build Week One***
To see details for each session please check out the online timetable online (link below).

Monday 12th September:

  • 6.15pm - All athletes – Squad Swimming at MSAC.  Session will begin with dryland band warm up.  Also bring pull buoy, paddles, fins, etc.  Outdoor pool - 4 lanes.  All athletes to adhere to MSAC entry protocols. 50m lanes.

Tuesday 13th September:

  • 5:45am - all athletes - Run session will work on various pacing and intervals based goals. Please meet Coach Ollie at the south end of the lake (refer to map in timetable).
  • 6pm - SC Athletes – Wind Trainer session online with Coach Gaz.  Link in programs.  Please contact if on Social or Pass membership. 
  • 6pm - LC Athletes – Wind Trainer session online with Coach Ollie.  Link in programs.  Please contact if on Social or Pass membership. 

Wednesday 14th September:

  • 5.45am - All athletes – Squad Swimming at MSAC.  Session will begin with dryland band warm up.  Also bring pull buoy, paddles, fins, etc.  Outdoor pool - 4 lanes.  All athletes to adhere to MSAC entry protocols. 50m lanes.

Thursday 15th September:

  • 5.45am - Intermediate/Advanced athletes - Hot Laps.  Meet outside MSAC main entrance by 5:40am for 5:45am roll out.  Tri-Alliance apparel is required, to keep the group together safely. Check your program for specific session prescribed for you.
  • 6:10pm - The Tan - Coach Ollie will meet you at the Pillars of Wisdom at 6.10pm, to begin your warm up at 6.15pm or...
  • Essendon - Coach Greg will you at the same time at the Essendon Rowing Club. Both sessions will be working on building fitness, whilst also focusing on technique, hill strength and intervals.

Friday 16th September:

  • 5.45am - All athletes – Squad Swimming at MSAC.  Session will begin with dryland band warm up.  Also bring pull buoy, paddles, fins, etc.  Outdoor pool.  All athletes to adhere to MSAC entry protocols. 50m lanes.

Saturday 17th September:

  • LC - 6:30am - Long Course Athletes – Kew –> KingLake
  • SC - 7am - Short Course athletes – Eltham –> KingLake ***Dependent on weather. Please stay tuned to socials for update on Friday. 
    • Everyone must bring appropriate nutrition and ensure you carry spares, money and phone.  Wear clothing appropriate to the conditions with Tri-Alliance branding mandatory.
    • All riders must be familiar with Tri-Alliance Bunch Riding and Cycling Etiquette policy: Road Cycling Tips - Tri-Alliance Triathlon Club Melbourne.

Sunday 18th September:

  • 8am - Meet Greg at 7:50am for an 8am start at the Fairfield Boathouse Car Park. 
  • 8am - NEW Session: Meet Coach Sez at 7:50am for an 8am start at the Pillars of Wisdom (the Tan).
