We hope you all had a fantastic Mother's Day yesterday! To all the amazing mothers in our squad, we want to extend a belated but heartfelt Happy Mother's Day. We know that your strength, love, and support are truly appreciated, not just yesterday, but every day.

Now, let's dive into some squad updates and reminders!

First things first, it's time to check in with yourself and your goals. Are you on the right path to where you want to be? Remember, it's okay to forge your own path, even if it means diverging from the crowd. If you're feeling unsure, don't hesitate to reach out to one of our coaches for guidance and support.

Speaking of squad spirit, have you seen our new TA Hoodies? It's time to gear up and show off your team pride! Picture yourself post-training, wrapped up in the comfiest navy hoodie adorned with our sunshine yellow branding. It's not just a hoodie; it's a mood. With unisex sizing and a casual fit, it's the perfect addition to your training wardrobe.

Now, let's talk about functional strength training. As the off-season is upon us, it's crucial to shift our focus to areas of training that may not receive as much attention during the competitive season. Functional strength training is one such area that can greatly benefit athletes by improving performance and reducing the risk of injuries. Let's make sure to prioritise this aspect of training as we gear up for the season ahead.

Lastly, forming good habits and getting into a routine is key to making the most of our current training phase. Consistency is key, so let's commit to showing up, putting in the work, and making progress towards our goals.

That's all for now, team!

Building Towards YOUR Goal

Now is a good time to make sure you are on the right path to your goal.  There’s no point following the crowd, if the crowd aren’t going to the same place you are!

For all those athletes gearing themselves up for IM Melb 70.3 or Busso, your build has started.  That means you should be on a Long Course program from now.  Those athletes gearing up for the 2XU Series, Noosa or any Sprint and Olympic distance races should be on Short Course programs.

This will also have a direct impact on Saturday rides. You need to be riding the appropriate distances, with the same focus and with the right group.

If you’re unsure, need a hand with switching over or want a chat about your goals, please get in touch with the coaches and will get you on the right path!

Building the Ultimate Triathlete

As the off-season rolls around, it’s tempting for triathletes to hang up their gear and take a well-deserved break. However, this period presents a valuable opportunity to focus on aspects of training that may not receive as much attention during the competitive season. One such aspect is functional strength training, which can play a crucial role in improving performance and preventing injuries. Let’s delve into why incorporating functional strength training into your off-season regimen can make all the difference.

Resistance-Bands

Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are simply a tool that helps you replicate any functional movement, while applying strength-enhancing, muscle-building resistance. As a result, resistance band training will make movements and muscles stronger while simultaneously improving movement coordination.

But...now you need to know where to get your hands on them.  You can check them out on eBay or anywhere really.  Even better if you can find suppliers offering deals for 2 sets (highly recommended as 1 set is only 1 length and you need double to do both arms at the same time).

It doesn't matter where you get your bands from - just make sure they have different tensions (colours) and MUST come with handles.  Shop around!
