Welcome to a bumper issue of the Weekly Transition! You may have missed us last week but that’s because we wanted to bring you a bigger and better edition this week, jam-packed with goodness because guess what?! Race season is here!

Over the long weekend we had a strong group having a great time in Noosa, whilst TTT #2 were welcomed with the start of their program here in Melbourne. And now, we’re only days away from Race #1 of the 2XU Triathlon Series...woohoo! For those of you racing this weekend, if it’s your first time or it’s been a while, don’t forget to check the TA checklist to make sure you don’t forget anything.

Helpers Needed
The future stars of our crazy sport will be kicking off proceedings on Sunday morning with the Tri Kids race.  We're looking for some friendly faces to come and give these little ones a hand.  It's super easy, they just need help with:
* lining up in their AGs
* walking to the start line
* being pointed in the right direction
* putting on tops, shorts, shoes (after the swim)
* racking and moving bikes
* encouragement to keep going
* smiles for miles and high 5s all round!

Meet at the TA Tent at 6:30am for briefing in bike compound at 6:40am.  The more the merrier.  Let's get around these gems of the sport!

The App is Live!

Hi Team,

The highly anticipated program and membership app on the Apple App store and Google Play store are now both live.  It would be appreciated if all athletes download the app going forward, regardless of your membership status.  Our new app not only has a comprehensive way of delivering your programs, but it now holds your membership cards ready for scanning by our coaching team at sessions.


Why be scanned into sessions?  
This helps out coaching team monitor all athletes via our traffic light algorithm to follow up on athletes.It shows that you have completed a session if you are a programmed athlete.
It helps us plan bookings for facilities and coaching resources.


Benefits of the app for programmed athletes?
One time login, you no longer need to login every time you open the app or old website.
A faster, more efficient experience with more of the heavy lifting done locally on your phone.
More flexibility how you view your planner, program and sessions.
And very soon, all your training data from Garmin will be visible on the app as well.

How Was Noosa 2019?

Those that raced Noosa in 2018 can be quoted as famously saying, “it’ll never be worse than that!”...oh how wrong we were! Noosa Triathlon is the world’s largest Olympic Distance Triathlon with over 8,500 participants and it never ceases to disappoint...and when we say that it’s bad, really Noosa is never bad! The atmosphere is like no other and it’s probably one of the races where you’ll have the most fun, usually with a few challenges thrown in for good measure. This year the big challenge was the strongest rip even the most seasoned swimmers have ever experienced. The swim course was swiftly changed to accommodate this as much as possible but athletes took it even further, choosing to run hundreds of metres up the beach from the start line to limit the distance swimming across the rip, hoping to be carried all the way to the swim exit...where a run all the way back along the beach was waiting for us! With the swim over, and every triathlete saying “thank goodness that’s over” it was onto the bike for the incredible Noosa ride course; 20km out and 20km back with a climb up Garmin hill on the way out and a speedy descent on the way back, there’s not too many people who don’t enjoy the bike leg. The hot and steamy 10km run leg, lined with locals and their DJ desks, hoses, homemade signs, sprinklers, high fives and cheers, is hard to not enjoy...I mean, as one sign said, if Donald Trump can run, so can you! There were over 40 TA athletes taking on Noosa with many completing both or either their first Olympic Distance and first Noosa! There were great results all round but most of all, everyone completed it with a grin from ear to ear and had fun along the way which is what Noosa is ALL about! For those of you with a serious case of #FOMO, rego opens for 2020 this Thursday so don’t miss out!
