TIME FOR SOME LONG COURSE

As recovery week rolls around, so does race week for many of our long course athletes.  We’ve had a strong contingent working towards and preparing themselves to take to take on Ironman Geelong 70.3 this weekend.  The weather looks great (min 15 max 33 light north-easterly winds) and we can’t wait to get down there and cheer them on.  The TA Taj will be set up in pride of place along Eastern Beach, with a race recon taking place Saturday morning.  Would be great to see as many people as possible joining us in G-Town and supporting the yellow and blue army.  Check out the link below to see who’s racing and to lock their race numbers in your trackers.


And talking about racing…you must know by now that Tri-Alliance are leading the way in the 2XU series Club Championship!!!! Congrats to ALL our wonderful athletes who have contributed with their blood, sweat and tears (but mostly with gritty smiles) to make this our BEST season yet.  BUT....we're only half way through and we're not rolling over now.  Did I mention it’s close, real close!   SO...we wanna see *EVERYONE* signed up to the last 2 races to help bring home the bacon.  That's right, WE NEED YOU.  C'mon, get behind the amazing TA spirit and BRING IT HOME!


But in the tradition of recovery week, it’s time to check back in with the body once again and make sure you get on top of anything that needs massaging, stretching, sleeping, eating, chatting, planning, updating, reorganising or just generally overhauling…. now is that time.  To help you along we’ve included a delicious dinner recommendation from Sambassador, an article on the benefits of foam rolling and a reminder about our wonderful team at Lakeside Sports Medicine who are ready to help you out! And if recovery week for you means checking what else is out there outside of triathlon, we’ve got a nice little Water Festival event to help you out.


By no doubt you’ve seen the Grand Prix making itself at home around Albert Park Lake.   Things look like they are certainly ramping up, so we’ve included the full schedule of road closures, so you can plan accordingly.    


And last but not least, the weekend sessions.  And these really do take on a bit of a twist this weekend.  It’s time for us to support our long course athletes, so some sessions have been modified, some will be uncoached and some are encouraged to be completed on Sunday morning down in Geelong, alongside our athletes.  So make sure you read up and if ANYTHING is unclear….just ask!

Did you hear the exciting news!!!  Tri-Alliance is sitting on TOP of the leader board after 3 races of the 2XU series!!!! Woo Hoo....How bloody awesome.  That's a hats off and a pat on the back to ALL our wonderful athletes who have contributed with their blood, sweat and tears (but mostly with gritty smiles) to make this our BEST season yet.

The New Software Has Launched!

We're thrilled that our CoachingMate V2 software is up and ready to go!  As the programs ticked over this month, the switch was flicked and we are GO LIVE.  But what does this mean for you? 
Well, you now get the freedom to select your own athlete level and planner (*insert excitment here*), by selecting a specific planner to align with your ongoing goals.

Fueling An Athlete

"Every now and then I thought I would give you a favourite recipe to fuel your training. A lot of you will know I am obsessed with Peanut Butter and do love salmon. When I first heard of satay salmon, I wasn’t entirely sure if it would live up to expectations. But I, and the others who I have shared this with, can tell you it’s a winner! Don’t be scared off by the ingredient list, its super quick and simple. Perfect to fit in with training!

The Best Team in Town

Tri-Alliance have been working with Lakeside Sports Medicine Centre for well over 10 years now, and there's no one we trust more with our athlete care than these guys and girls.  They regularly treat a range of conditions from acute sporting injuries to chronic pain symptoms as well as assisting athletes with rehabilitation and aim to provide a complete care plan, tailored to suit the individual.  Best of all, Lakeside liaise closely with coaches at Tri-Alliance, to ensure all parties are informed, are aware of both program requirements and everyone can work towards the same goal.

Tr-Alliance athletes receive a 10% discount on presentation of their ID card and can speak directly with Practice Manager Tayla if there's any trouble getting appointments ([email protected])

Nagambie On Water Festival

On the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of March 2019, the annual Nagambie on Water Festival (NOW) will bring High Street and the lake alive. The NOW Festival has been exhibiting the best of Nagambie’s stunning natural resources and community spirit every year since 2008.

Road Closures at Albert Park

Grand Prix set up has well and truly commenced around the Albert park precinct, with more and more trucks and infrastructure rolling in each day. Please be mindful of the increase in traffic, hazards on and around the park and the road closures.  Allow extra travel time to and from sessions and also if you have an appointment at Lakeside.  Full details in the PDF below.
