BEGIN YOUR BUILD NOW

Prefacing this newsletter with apologies for keeping it short and sweet.  Several coaches are isolating/under the weather/recovering, so we'll be doing our very best to get all sessions up and running this week.  Keep an eye on socials for any last minute changes and the latest information.  Below, I have got an overview of the week ahead.  We'll take it from there.

Reminder to all that we have just started
our training phases for the year – Technique/Base Training.  Technique at the start of a training season is extremely important and will have a direct impact on your training and more importantly – racing, over the coming season. Technique training involves working on your skills in all forms of triathlon and breaking down the components of your swim stroke, riding technique, run technique.  Those who commence their winter training in May will ensure they build a sound technique and base fitness to build on in our further training phases throughout the year.

We hope to see you all again at a session very soon!

TRAINING CAMP
Thanyapura-Sports-Hotel-Thailand
Thanyapura Training Camp Thailand

Live and breathe the life of a professional triathlete over 10 days at the ultimate Sports and Health resort in Thanyapura, Thailand from 29th of July to the 7th of August 2020.

"I used this camp in preparation for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Mooloolaba. This camp exceeded all my expectations. Absolutely loved it. Everything included, it really is an athlete's dream there. I was able to get my fitness to the next level and learn a few things along the way like my sweat rate/sodium losses."

We aim to give athletes the ultimate professional training experience, jam-packed with insight and knowledge into significant personal gains that can contribute to overall performance improvements and success. In addition to training for all three facets of triathlon, athletes will also undergo the rigours of sweat testing, time trials, Vo2 max as well as other high-end testing to help you achieve your fitness goals. Athletes will be broken into groups in accordance with fitness levels and abilities, allowing coaches to tailor your 10 days in Triathlon paradise.

With 4-star accommodation, all meals, coaching and testing included over 10 action-packed days, athletes are treated to the life of a professional athlete with incredible facilities to indulge in.

FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH TRAINING
Resistance-Bands
Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are simply a tool that helps you replicate any functional movement, while applying strength-enhancing, muscle-building resistance. As a result, resistance band training will make movements and muscles stronger while simultaneously improving movement coordination.

But...now you need to know where to get your hands on them.  You can check them out on eBay or anywhere really.  Even better if you can find suppliers offering deals for 2 sets (highly recommended as 1 set is only 1 length and you need double to do both arms at the same time).

It doesn't matter where you get your bands from - just make sure they have different tensions (colours) and MUST come with handles.  Shop around!

Team Mate Needed!

Is anyone interested in joining a team for the upcoming Ironman 70.3 Cairns in June?

One of our athletes (Lisa Renkin) has just lost the cyclist in her team and is on the hunt for a replacement as soon as possible.

She will be grateful for any offers, as the team is entered as a fundraising team and she wants to ensure the commitment is fulfilled.

To discuss further or to organise a chat with Lisa, shoot me an email and I'll get you two in touch.
