You bloody ripper! The new CLUB CHAMPIONS of the 2XU Triathlon Series for the 2018/19 Season goes to... TRI-ALLIANCE!! Woo hoo! For a club who prides themselves on welcoming everyone, who is supportive of all personal goals and who most of all just wants their athletes to be happy and having fun with triathlon, this is a huge achievement. Biggest of thanks goes straight back to the Tri-Alliance Family, because this achievement is a reflection of every single one of you (yes, you!) because without you, we wouldn’t have the club that we have, we wouldn’t have the achievements that we do and we wouldn’t have so many happy and healthy triathletes. It takes every single one of us to make a team and the culture that we have! In the words of our very own Gazbassador, “we do triathlon. We put three sports together, that’s an achievement in itself and we should ALL stand proud in our achievements!” If you're around this weekend and can make your way down to Challenge Melb, we will be reenacting our podium photo shoot when we are finally presented with The (*real) Cup!
From here on in there are really two things on our minds: EOSP and Recovery! * EOS Party Time - Date set, venue announced, tickets over half gone and we're closing the bookings first week in May. Now is also the time to nominate for the prestigious Athlete Awards. * Recovery month (aka Fat April) is ON! Make sure you have a read about its importance (in all seriousness) below and the changes to our timetable. There will be even more next week over the Easter break so stay tuned.
If you're ready to think a little further ahead, we have our Lorne Winter training camp coming up and this is one not to miss. There'll be more info in the coming weeks about how the best gains are made in Winter.
We also want to wish Super Mario the very best as he takes on the Boston Marathon on the 15th. We have all watched him working on his run and know he's looking forward to giving it a good crack!
