Tri-Alliance Training Update

Well this is good news!  We have to say a little bit unexpected, but very good news nevertheless.

As directed by the Premier of Victoria today, from 11:59pm tonight (Wednesday 17 February), restrictions for sport and recreation activities will return to the following:

Indoor physical recreation and community sport: A density quotient of 1 per 4sqm applies to each space. Gym and exercise classes limited to 50 people (excluding anyone necessary for running the class). COVID Marshals required when gyms are staffed. At times when gyms are unstaffed, a density quotient of 1 per 8 sqm applies. Signage must state the number of people permitted inside, wipes and disinfectant must be supplied for use by patrons, and record keeping is required and venues with capacity of greater than 500 patrons must publish a COVIDSafe Plan online.

Outdoor physical recreation and community sport: Up to a maximum of 100 patrons for outdoor fitness classes (excluding anyone necessary for running the class) with a density quotient of 1 per 2sqm. Record keeping is required and venues with capacity of greater than 500 patrons must publish a COVIDSafe Plan online.

Pools, spas, saunas, steam rooms and springs: Indoor venues open with a density quotient of 1 per 4 sqm. Outdoor pools open with a density quotient of 1 per 2 sqm. Record keeping is required.

This means business as usual for us!

However, we remind all athletes to adhere to our COVIDSafe plan at all times.  Please take the time to refamiliarize yourself with it now.

Thursday Night @ Elwood:
We will have our regular groups completing sessions in their designated zones:
LC - swim then run with Coach Greg
SC - swim/run combo with Coach Gaz
Run - interval session with Coach Steph
TTT - swim/skills with Coach Ollie
*No bikes required for any athletes this week.

REMINDER - Athletes Racing Geelong 70.3:
It is important for Ollie to get you together for a quick chat.  He will explain where to from here, how to reset and realign, what the program will look like and how to keep the momentum going until the proposed race date*.
This online catch up will take place on tonight, following the dryland swim session.  Use the link in your program from 7pm, if not joining the swim session.  If you need the link or have any questions please email [email protected]

Need Some Extra Motivation?
As an added bonus, Garmin has released a special for us on their triathlon specific Forerunner 945.  It was $999 and now down to $749. This is only for the next 3 weeks.  All Garmin's have FREE delivery, and the 945 comes with:

  • Garmin Maps
  • Garmin Pay
  • Gamin Music (including Spotify - no phone needed!)

As always, stay tuned to the social channels for any last minute changes, but we are excited to be returning to group training and ultimately seeing a return to racing, sooner rather than later!
